Pro-Bitcoin advocate @SenLummis has posted every day since Clarity failed at the Cloture vote stage.
Same format: "Democrats wanted X. It's in the bill. Democrats voted no." Eight posts. Insider trading, fraud authority, delisting, audits, disclosures, BSA, ATMs.
But notice what's NOT on the list. I'll have more to say in an upcoming Forbes piece, but here's the TL;dR for now. 🧵 1/5

Turns out higher prices, a new war, unprecedented corruption, and weaponizing government against the people is unpopular.
Republican politicians chose billionaires, big corporations, tech oligarchs, and foreign adversaries over the American people.
Even GOP voters are over it.
Right. The rest of the world uses digital assets, virtual assets etc. Why wouldn’t our language evolve, too?
There's lots of discussion about a16z dropping the word 'crypto'.
It's actually a sign of crypto winning. It's outgrown being a standalone sector and now runs through global finance and frontier tech: payments, trading, tokenization, AiFi, and much more.
We've spent more than a decade building this industry to make it useful everywhere, and we should welcome it escaping its own category. People used to say 'internet companies' - which is a prehistoric phrase now. Eventually, calling something a 'crypto company' should feel just as redundant.
Many of us (including me) will keep the word. But the millions, and soon billions, using it every day won't care what we call it.
They'll care what it lets them do.
JUST IN: The Trump administration has preemptively filed a lawsuit seeking to block certification of Alaska's US Senate election if the Republican incumbent Sen. Dan Sullivan loses in the state which could decide the balance of power in the Senate. cnn.it/4i52DPm

“Anything else you wanna share with our listeners before we let you go?
@KamalaHarris: “I’m asking all your listeners, with all the respect that you so rightly deserve, this is your moment. This is your moment to use your power to make a statement that Mississippi matters, that you matter and you deserve better.”

Amy Acton’s estranged mother knew her husband had a daughter from a previous marriage who’d also accused him of rape.
But when 12-year-old Amy told her mom that he was raping her, instead of concluding she was married to a pedophile rapist she concluded both girls were lying.

Reporter calls out an error in the indictment.
She asks Todd Blanche about how Louise Lucas was helped to get a recreational marijuana license in Virginia when they are not available yet.
Blanche has no idea. Big error. I wonder if AI wrote it🤣🤣

Seniors earned every penny of their Social Security. They paid into it with every paycheck. It is not a slush fund for Washington politicians to cut or delay.

A military-grade weapon designed to inflict intense pain has no place in immigration enforcement, and the Pentagon has no business testing weapons for this purpose. Secretary Hegseth needs to explain why the military is using resources on American streets.
The Pentagon has given DHS permission to test a military-grade heat ray & develop tactics for potentially using it in operations at the southern US border, per a memo signed by SecDef Hegseth last month & obtained by CNN.

Friendly reminder that American banks made over $700 billion in net-interest income last year, more than the Mag 7 made in net income.
That's the money they extracted from ordinary Americans - savers and borrowers - to give to their shareholders, a direct consequence of their beloved deposit monopoly.
There was never an economic, academic, historic, or moral argument for banning stablecoin yield - even the direct payment that Genius banned outright. It was always protectionism.
They got most of what they wanted but are still complaining. The hubris is astounding.
🚨UPDATE: @ABABankers isn’t happy with the @USOCC’s final GENIUS Act rule, saying it “will preserve the status quo for crypto platforms” after the regulator dropped its proposed restrictions on stablecoin yield.
“Attempting to address deposit flight and economic harm after it has occurred is the wrong approach,” ABA CEO @BankersPrez says.
