Yesterday was a monumental day for PE pts & for the space with the FIRST ever RCT reporting outcomes comparing mechanical thrombectomy #CAVT to standard AC in intermediate high risk PE. Results show superiority to AC at effectively & rapidly reversing RV/ LV ratio with a comparable safety profile !

The ATTRACT Trial was a large randomized control trial looking at the rate of postthrombotic syndrome in patients with DVT who were treated with anticoagulation alone vs with percutaneous catheter directed therapy (PCDT). PCDT involves both rheolytic and mechanical mechanisms of action for endovascular thrombus removal. #DVT #IR #interventionalradiology #ATTRACT
