Today marks 4 years since nearly the entire @IU_SOQIC team left Northwestern. Many of us moved to Indiana @IU_Surgery, but others went to @UMichSurgery & @UChicago. I am very proud of how they have all thrived, & I love that we continue working together. Several new R01s/T32 came through recently for these surgeon-scientists! @IU_SOQIC is now even larger than it was at Northwestern with more than 55 faculty, fellows, and staff working collaboratively and having a great time!
Congratulations to @TonyYangMD on receiving a @NIH R01 grant from @NIDDKgov to support a multi-site clinical trial focused on improving screening colonoscopy quality in rural hospitals through AI-assisted video-based feedback. The project reflects continued national investment in advancing quality improvement and preventive care in digestive diseases. 🫀🔎

Inspiring talk from our @ISQIC1 keynote speaker and Founding Director @kbilimoria at our 9th Annual Conference.
A great reminder of where ISQIC came from, what we’ve achieved, and where we can go together as a two state collaborative.

Legendary surgeon, Nat Soper, was our visiting prof this week. Many faculty at @IU_Surgery worked for him at Northwestern, trained under him, or partnered with him in @SAGES_Updates. A pioneer in laparoscopy & an outstanding leader, he led Northwestern Surgery to its highest point in its history. Now he is now having an incredible impact at U of Arizona Phoenix. A wonderful human, mentor, and friend. I’m sure all of us, and friends who are still at Northwestern, miss having you as our chair.
Webinar alert! Join us Wed 10/23 at 12 pm ET to explore next steps for ISQIC participation. We’ll also discuss the upcoming project and upgraded data platform. Your input is welcome! Email [email protected] for the registration link. @TonyYangMD @rpmerkow
