Adam Silver walked back reports that Mexico City was creeping in front of Seattle for an NBA expansion franchise today on ESPN.
The NBA and Adam Silver are trying to drive the price up for a Seattle franchise and have started to loop back around on the possibility of a new team in Mexico City instead.
Tim Booth just asked Adam Silver about the return of the SuperSonics. We will be live with him on IG shortly.
The NBA Commissioner just confirmed that he feels the league is “very much on track” that we will have a decision about the return of our Sonics by the end of the year.
“No votes have been taken, we’ve got a ways to go.”
But he added that he was very happy with the level of interest that that league has seen in the city.
