It was a wonderful opportunity to learn, share knowledge, celebrate our heritage and understand Ẹgbẹ́ beyond the many misconceptions surrounding it. We are grateful to everyone who came, supported us, contributed and made the festival memorable.
A big thank you to everyone who stood with us and helped make this vision a reality. Your love, support and presence mean so much to us.
May our Ori continue to guide us and may the blessings of Ẹgbẹ́ continue to speak positively in our lives.

Meet Dr. Wasiu Olatubosun, the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism in Oyo State, who attended Day 4 of the Yemoja Ibadan Festival 2026.
And there was Iyalorisa Omitonade Ifawemimo @Ifawemimo in her element, proudly representing and celebrating the richness of Ìṣẹ̀ṣe and Yoruba traditional heritage.
Picture appointing someone who does not identify with Ìṣẹ̀ṣe to head a ministry tasked with promoting Yoruba culture, traditional heritage and tourism. How well can such a person genuinely grasp and represent the interests of traditional practitioners?
Culture goes beyond festivals and tourism revenue; it is identity, history, spirituality and a people's way of life.
This is exactly why I admire the way Governor Seyi Makinde's administration operates.
In my view, appointments in culture and tourism should reflect not only administrative competence but also a real understanding of the cultural heritage the ministry is charged with preserving and promoting.
Yoruba culture deserves leaders who understand, respect and value Ìṣẹ̀ṣe. Our heritage must be safeguarded by people who recognise its importance to our identity as a people.

DAY 1 OF YEMOJA ÌBÀDÀN FESTIVAL 2026 💃🏿💃🏿💃🏿💃🏿
Yemoja Ibadan Festival kicked off in Ile Aperin, Pópóyemoja, Ibadan, Ọ̀yọ́ State, with a grand event called “ìlàsú Òrìṣà.” This opening ceremony serves as a splendid introduction of the New Yam to the Òrìṣà Yemọja, signifying appreciation and seeking new blessings for a fresh start.
The ìlàsú Òrìṣà marked the commencement of the festival and the beginning of a new year for us. The preparation began in the morning, as the Olórìsà(different Òrìṣà devotees) and well wishers meticulously arrange everything for the event. The ìlàsú itself started towards the evening till dawn and it was conducted by the revered Babalorisa Omikunmi Egbelade.
Once the new yam presented to Òrìṣà Yemoja, everyone came together to feast and celebrate. We partaked in the food we offered to Òrìṣà Yemoja as a demonstration of our love and allegiance to the Òrìṣà. We also prepared ourselves for the spiritual possession moments, wherein we seeked blessings.
