481m is a big number for a trailer. A very big number. The interest is definitely there. Let's see if it delivers.

It is still very early days, but so far I have heard only good things about this project.

Now re-listening to The Magicians Nephew. Delighted to find an unabridged audiobook narrated by Kenneth Branagh.

Well worth a listen
We sat down with bestselling authors Tad Williams and George R. R. Martin to discuss the impact of Williams' first series (MEMORY, SORROW, AND THORN) on the fantasy landscape in 1988 🌟 Watch the full video on YouTube: buff.ly/23zfTDn

Never under-estimate the value of encouraging someone on a creative venture.

An important point ... trailers are notoriously tricksy for lore-heads like me to make judgment-calls on. This could be a dream, something completely out of context, or even something cut from the final version. Or it could be what it looks like. We'll have to wait to see when the movie comes out.
Just a thought… since this is a trailer shot could you imagine if this is a fake out scene? Like she wants to dominate mankind on earth with her devastating and deplorable magic so she imagines she can do this but then we hard cut to it being a dud and her magic doesn’t work?

If you ever have a spare 8 hours or so ... "The Beatles: Get Back" is genuinely one of the most fascinating studies of human nature I have ever seen. We all know the musical outcome. This is four men, and a wide cast of extras, crafting their final masterpiece on camera in an era when fly-on-the-wall was unheard of. So no-one is playing it up for the camera. They all suspect it will be their last time creating together. We know now that it will be. It's the nitty gritty of creativity mixed with a massive dose of humanity and a side-slice of genius. Highly recommended.
Paul McCartney teaching "Let It Be" to John, George and Ringo for the first time. Love this fly on the wall captured history.

OK, I'll now re-read The Magician's Nephew to work out for myself whether Lewis thought Jadis's magic was absent or merely diminished when on Earth...

I don't know why this is trending now, nearly a decade after the play. But this is what an actor should do ... stamp his or her own take on a speech we all know, while retaining the integrity of the original. FWIW this is far from my favourite interpretation. I think it loses too much of the rhythm of the script. But its pace makes it far more accessible for new audiences. It is a worthy addition to the canon.
Andrew Scott delivers this speech too slowly; I know some viewers will hate the way he breaks up the verse. AND YET even in spite of that I think this is the best delivery of this soliloquy I’ve ever seen. He makes it sound like it’s not a portentous speech everyone already knows but a morally serious real-time deliberation, by a highly intelligent person in extreme pain, considering what it would mean to end his own life.

When I see the film, my lore-geek-radar will be checking to see whether this is Jadis using magic in our world (which she shouldn't be able to) or using her supernatural strength in some way (which is 100% canon)
Jadis is using magic in the real world now... Narnia is going to make A LOT of changes to C.S. Lewis' work. Why even adapt it? Why not make something new?

Daniel Craig is an under-rated actor. In fact, by far the best actor who has played Bond IMO. (Which, obviously, is not the same as being the best Bond 😂)
Daniel Craig in Greta Gerwig’s ‘NARNIA: THE MAGICIAN’S NEPHEW.’
