Minister @Shiyamaldives attended the handover ceremony of 1,200 saplings donated by the Government of India as a token of friendship, in support of the Maldives’ Five Million Tree Planting Programme. In his remarks, the Minister expressed appreciation to the Government of India and highlighted the importance of tree planting in strengthening national food security, promoting agroforestry, and building climate-resilient communities. He also reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to expanding sustainable agricultural practices and local food production.
