#WorldEnvironmentDay reminds us that more and more often people migrate for causes related with climate change. Migration is an #adaptationstrategy but cannot be the only solution.
🌷EU Nature Restauration Law is so much RELEVANT to #ProtectOurPlanet and act now!🔊
Climate change and disasters are impacting human mobility. We need to reduce the risk of displacement, with solutions for those who move or stay.
On #WorldEnvironmentDay, @IOMchief joins @UN leaders in calling to respect & protect the environment and #Beatplasticpollution.
IncluCities was a project intertwining practices and policies. During the 3ys we bridged the gap between the local and EU policy making (or at least we tried 😊)
Empower #localgov to be seen and heard at the EU level has been and still is one of the main goals of @CCRECEMR

We are happy to say that the policy recommendation paper is finally ready and will be published online soon 🎉
This is the fruit of 3y work with #localgov in 6 EU Member States and it was presented in Toronto last week by our pm🗣️👇🏼 at @YorkUniversity @whole_comm
Last week I had the chance to speak @ #TransAtlanticPolicyLab in Toronto as Advisory Board Member of the @whole_comm to highlight the recommendations for #localgov and #EUCommission driven by @InclucitiesEU project
I met local reps from Quebec, Canada and US and it was great 🌇
The discussions were about participation, representation and sense of belonging 🫂
SDGs are implemented locally🌇 when creating inclusive communities and increase the sense of belonging to a space that becomes a place

In the past 3 years we worked to building more inclusive cities with migrants and refugees and to pass the message that #meaningfulparticipation is a basic need #localgov have to take into account to produce better co-designed policies.
@BlancheEllisArt work sums up all this 👩🏼💻
AMIF funds are only one tool in the belt of EC to reach a meaningful participation of migrants and refugees
With #IncluCities @CCRECEMR tried to do its bit to bridge the gap between #localgov and newcomers
🫴🏼Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can 🗣️

Worshop on gender-sensitive approach to local inclusion touched upon different challenges that migrant women face in cities: language, mental health, safety, employment. Amazing moderation by @JustJaimie and Valerie Loirat @afccre✨️
That's it! Thank you all for coming and making this project so special. 💯
Good luck to all of you with building more inclusive cities!

The basic idea of gender-sensitive integration is to raise awareness about the different needs in the community of migrant women. This is at the heart of the action plan in @Sjrofficiel 🇫🇷, explained the Mayor @ChristopheChail.
Afternoon at the final #Inclucities conference was dedicated to three paralell workshops:
🔹️gender-sensitive approach to local inclusion
🔹️rethinking the inclusive cities
🔹️language, education and volunteering
