Thank you @MrsJPerry2! Indigenous Education across CCSD. @IndigenousShala @prmccallum @Cynlomalecite @metis_gervais
Attending class with @StJude_CCSD Gr. 3/2 in the forest. Students found a new plant friend to interview. We learned that Indigenous wisdom teaches us that plants are not an "it" & so we asked them their names. Speaking kindly to a plant reminds us that we are all interconnected.

Who knew wild rose petals were so tasty? 💕@metis_gervais led us in a plant walk & shared her knowledge & lovely stories about her plant friends. We left planning what’s next on this journey that we are on together… @XBiffert @IndigenousShala @CCSD_Indigenous

Today we were honoured with the blessing of the land by CSSD District Elder, Wanda First Rider. It will be a sacred space for teaching, learning and healing and is appropriately named after Wanda as “Elder Wanda First Rider, Pukaki, Little Woman, Healing Garden”. @CCSD_Indigenous

A good teaching and reminder ♥️ @CCSD_edu
Good morning. Just another little reminder. It seems that a lot of you know that you should offer them but you don't actually know why. Things are meaningless and gestures are just gestures if you don't take the time for a better understanding. passthefeather.ca
