It's deeply ironic that Socialism was once a rising force in American politics. But what helped kill it was Soviet Communism. 🧵

I’ve cried so many times 😩 it legitimately feels like a liberation and I’m so proud of us for staying the course despite so many years of doubt and disappointment.

It's going to be much more fun arguing over who deserves the most credit 😂

Today is a good day to remember that most people (even those who mostly share our politics) don't share our exact ranking of priorities for voting. Being mad at everyone else because OMG they didn't put this one issue before everything else, is stupid & not helpful/healthy.

Today is one of those days when I'm glad that most voters don't pay attention to the hyper-online, issue-specific, intraparty squabbles we all spend so much time on.

I don't approve of her supporting Rogers, but I do appreciate that she was one of only a few Dems who actually pushed him on explaining how his constant antizionist BS is any different than Cenk's disgusting ad. It's a valid question too many DSA/Leftists refuse to confront.
AES has been a divisive candidate, saying one thing in generic vague statements, while dogwhistling in others. The choice Stevens made wouldn't be my choice but Michigan is where it is because AES is not interested in actual unity. It's been plain for months.

And honestly, if I were summarizing this whole mess (as well as Platner, Mamdani etc.) it would be: Jews (and allies) finally decided to call out the poisonous, antizionist dogma in the Dem coalition and what we are seeing is the fragility/backlash to that.

Free advice: get off this Hell-site as much as possible today and avoid election coverage. Thank you for attending my Ted talk...

THIS!
"Fuck Israel Free Palestine" graffiti on the school busses of Jewish children belonging to Hasidic movements that aren't even Zionist. Is this still anti-Zionism or can we admit antisemites are using Israel to harass their Jewish neighbors?

There is a visible and obvious asymmetry here, and party leadership has been blind to it for too long. For a decade, they looked the other way when entryists like Sanders' orbit actively undermined the party while remaining primarily loyal to someone who is a registered INDEPENDENT Senator. Yes, endorsing a Republican should be treated as an automatic disqualifier. But so should Uncommitted, and for the same reason: you should not be permitted to remain inside the party while actively undermining a nominee in your own party. Progressives have been allowed to visibly, explicitly, and loudly withhold support, primary, and vilify elected Democrats while moderates who break ranks the other way are expelled. That's a double standard, and the gap needs to be closed, for the sake of consistency and the health of the party.

I'm not a big conspiracy theory guy, but at this point I'm kinda leaning towards the possibility that El-Sayed, McMorrow and Haley (or maybe just her fiancé) were all OPs. All involved have acted in just the way that Putin would applaud for aiding GOP chances, sowing division.

What an absolutely atrocious showing from all parties involved. Fuck Stevens for not realizing where the priorities are right now in this country and joining hands with an actual fucking traitor to this country. Fuck El-Sayed for constantly fence-sitting every single fucking issue because he doesn’t have the courage or leadership to actually state a real position on any of the controversial stuff he must have KNOWN would be thrown his way. Fuck all of the loser socialists who were so keen to inject themselves into this race from afar, whether it’s Hasan (stupid terrorist supporter) who was constantly undermining El-Sayed’s already wishy-washy statements, or Cenk (even more stupid terrorist supporter) who decided to throw one last grenade into the race to fuck everything up for no reason other than his own ego and Jew-obsession. Regardless of how things ultimately turn out in this race, leftists (socialists) have been a plight on our elections this season, from Wisconsin to Maine to Michigan.

Hot take: corned beef hash is better from a can. And yes, that includes your fancy farm-to-table, fresh version.

This. Too many pro-AES people are gaslighting Jews & Black People for having legit concerns about Jewish Safety. But also, too many El-Sayed opponents are gaslighting others wrt legit concerns about the existential danger of a GOP Senate 2 hard-fought rights & Democracy.
Replying to @Sigmundine2
From where i'm standing both sides of this michigan so called "issue" have been acting out and almost none of them are coming out smelling like roses.

And of course, this was the whole terrible predicament that the DSA WANTED TO PUT US IN, by pushing AOC, Mamdani, El-Sayed and all the other hard Leftist, antizionist candidates they endlessly fap over.

Meanwhile, just a reminder that this shit is still happening (at my alma matter in this case) And one party (and their ideologically-captured Supreme Court) are preventing us from having sane gun safety laws. Vote Dem, always #BlueWave nbcphiladelphia.com/news/loc…

I just realized that Ray Parker Jr.'s classic Ghostbusters features the line "Bustin' makes me feel so good!" 🤣💦

Indeed, if you look at the rabid antizionist AES supporters they seem to be enjoying (in no particular order): 1.) Gaslighting Jews on what is antisemitism/Jew-hate 2.) Pressuring Jews to ignore or absolve antizionist hate ...
Once again, Dems? The whole point is to make you eat shit and like it, and Stevens appears to be the only Democrat of note refuses to play ball

3.) Holding a crucial Dem Senate hostage, preemptively blaming Jews if AES loses 4.) Spreading antisemitic conspiracy theories/libels 5.) Using misogynist attacks of Haley Stevens 6.) Pushing Jews out of the Dem Coalition They are ENJOYING all of this!!!

The candidacies of AES, Platner, Dariala, Nixon, Mamdani etc., have all been part of a Gamergate-esque project for people on the Left who hate/resent Jews. It's been one big trolling project with the added bonus of aiding Putin, Russia, Republicans.
