Wow, finally. It has been a long 7 years of lobbying. Effective April 21, 2021, the PST exemption has been expanded to include qualifying e-bikes and e-trikes. Also, conversion kits used to electrify conventional bicycles and tricycles.www2.gov.bc.ca/assets/gov/ta…

The more we study the Netherlands’ systematic approach to road safety, the more we appreciate its near-perfect application of the Hierarchy of Controls.
“Low car” streets are the most effective way of minimizing exposure to risk. Helmets are the least.

The most important document that Canadian City Planners and Engineers should study and learn from.
In general, Dutch planners identify six categories of cyclist; people that whilst riding their bicycle have different needs and wants.
These groups all need to be thought about individually for road safety, as they have different requirements and wishes.

Way to go Saanich, let's hope that other communities on the island follow suit. Nanaimo perhaps?????
Last night #Saanich Council supported the proposal from myself, @RJMersereau and @zac4saanich for an additional $2 million into active transportation infrastructure!
A step in the right direction to make our roads safer & more accessible for all.
