Everyone who owns hardware with abominable software (like Sonos players) owes a debt of gratitude to Venkatraman Srinivasan and the rest of the eMudhra gang in Bengaluru, Karnataka. Without their gross negligence, it'd be a lot harder to counterfeit certificates and fix the sw🙏

Two years ago I released the USB Army Knife, this combined WiFi, BTLE & USB attacks into a single dongle with a unified language. Two years of long nights later I’m teasing the UAK Pro More WiFi & BTLE attacks, mic, IR TX, mesh networking and more (see 🧵) Coming soon!!!
For over a year my free time has been spent turning this ‘LilyGo T-Dongle S3’ into hacking tool USB/WiFi/BT which I’ve named the USB Army Knife. This device is cheap, tiny, has a screen, SPI port, button and can do a ton of stuff with the ESP32-S3 inside. It has consumed me! 🧵

Sure is a lot of cool RF stuff dropping in the last couple weeks!
Yes, a light bulb is now an SDR. etherbulb.com/

And this is how 80 Msps, 80 MHz of real-time from a Wi-Fi USB adapter (CF-952AX) looks like when you spend time calibrate, tune the gain to protect against forced AGC and overload, and make it look like pretty and correct @cemaxecuter @luigifcruz @Ready4Sushi 2.4 GHz in all its glory! Just find a USB dongle that does not interferer so much on 2.4 GHz and this is the result.

For the past three years, I have been writing long-form history articles for Digikey about stories that you have never heard before. I have done deep research on many topics you may never have considered. I tell the history of the electrical fuse, the relay, the op-amp, the transformer, radio broadcast, part designators, the soldering iron, the pipe wrench, the 555, the 6502, and the Galvanometer. Please check out my articles and let me know what you think. cybercitycircuits.com/2025/1…

Hell yeah!
Turned a WiFi 7 router into a 320Msps SDR. Custom firmware on its MediaTek MT7996 streams raw 14-bit IQ from 2.4/5/6GHz over 10GbE without dropping samples. It's not a snapshot mode, the waterfall is just one thing reading the stream. github.com/h0m3us3r/w1700k-s…

In my younger don’t care years I’d be sliding a USB stick in this. #namethesystem The pic of the monitor kinda gives it away.

Great journalism here. I didn’t think they were allowed to do this type of reporting anymore.
RFE/RL takes apart a Russian Geran-4 drone to uncover what makes the jet-powered unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) faster, harder to intercept, and capable of operating deep inside Ukraine -- from its turbojet engine and advanced camera to foreign-made communications and navigation components. @cxemu @radiosvoboda

Attackers planting adversarial prompts inside malware to evade AI analysis AGAIN Russia-aligned UAC-0099 used a technique @ESETresearch calls "GuardBreaker". How it worked: 1. Create a malicious VBS script 2. Add nuclear weapon instructions as comments 3. AI security tooling reads the file 4. Safety guardrails trigger on the weapons content 5. The model refuses or stops analyzing 6. The actual malware continues executing The script ultimately installs MATCHBOIL, a loader used to deliver additional payloads. In June, Socket found the same technique in supply-chain attacks, where malicious packages embedded biological/nuclear weapons text and fake system overrides to disrupt AI malware scanners. Full write-ups in the comments. 👇

How the Battery Enabled the Victorian Age The Victorian Age may not have happened without Volta's Battery. Volta's battery may not have taken off without Napoleon Bonaparte. This is a milestone history of the battery as it grew into a commodity product from a smelly pile of bubbling metal. digikey.com/en/emedia/emagaz…

If I have one complaint (the whackadoodle customs fiasco doesn’t count since it’s out of their control) it is that in the @ATLairport there is like 2 places to eat after midnight if you’re struck with a cancelled flight. It’s not from lack of customers either.
