Working in tech for the better part of 20 years has taught me one thing.
I'd rather be outside.
But I love raising my kids with my wife, coding, playing video games, BBQing and especially being out in nature doing cool things on mountains.
Building on the side of a 9-5 has been an eye opening experience, and I've met a ton of super cool, intelligent and amazing builders - whether UI/UX, Design or straight up code typing, y'all are awesome at what you do, and I can't wait to meet more e-friends.
The dual monitors made testing so much easier.
Sorted out several new bugs found during testing
Confirmed the feature enhancements all work as expected. I even got that tingly feeling when things actually work out the way you wanted.
Release iminent. but not tonight. it's family time now
I have a dock setup just for my personal dev laptop but I almost never use it for my personal work, just the 9-5 laptop (i rock 2x macbook pros, and a windows gaming pc at my desk).
But when I have a huge test plan, I get really tired of swapping virtual desktops back and forth, so dock it is tonight!
Time to grind out some manual testing for the new Camprtron.com rig feature enhancements! coming soon, to an internet near you...

I love the little dinosaurs that roam my backyard.
So does my 10lb Cavapoo. She enjoys chasing them across the deck 🤣
Manual testing is still such an important part of the release cycle.
I just found a pretty big lapse in my data, and a bug that was preventing it, just because i put human eyes on my app while testing some new features.
I know these days we are trying to automate everything, but sometimes nothing beats a pair of eyes and your hands driving the interactions with your software.
The bug I found in Camprtron was a lot of campsites were listed as "length limit not listed" - aka i was not storing the max length of RV the site can handle. AI would never have found this without being explicitly told to look for it - which requires human intervention.
Once I noticed this, I had my agent inspect my database and during that inspection it found an ingestion bug as well as the data that backed up my hunch. Now it's designing a plan to address the bug and the data issue.
I count that as a win for spending my time manually testing
Good morning!
is that phrase a wish or a gift?
We made it to Thursday, the weekend is near!
Crossed 3.5 items off my todo list yesterday on top of the 9-5. I call that success.
Hope it’s a great day for everyone, time to grind
Anyone else think tonight was Friday night?
Life is good, you’re awesome, tomorrow is a new day for new things if today kinda sucked
Nothing quite ruffles your feathers like attending your childs sports game and having the refs cuss up the rules.
Luckily we still won, but man I was about to go hamm on the scorekeepers for a second.
They're little kids, and it doesn't matter at all cause they're having fun still, but dad was about to throw down!
"claude provide me a list of manual test items for the feature enhancement we just did"
14 bullet point items later I now have my evening plans on paper. Maybe the next couple of evenings if I'm being honest...
Claude or codex; what's your demon of choice?
I can't hide that I'm all in on Claude. However I wanted to test codex, and since they were giving out a free month of the $20 plus sub, i signed up.
Just hit my first usage limit on it - honestly i'm a bit surprised that it lasted as long as it did - I was running sol light/med then ran high for the last task.
Not bad, but also nothing special enough to make me switch from claude to codex (at least not yet). I'm having codex do some research/pre-planning, claude implements, then codex reviews and sometimes bug fixes. seems to be working out ok
Welcome to Hump Day fellow internet dwellers!
Today is a yellow day it seems. I didn’t plan this, it’s just the colors that happened but I’ll take it. Also don’t judge for my cinnamon roll bfast. I needed something sweet to start my day
Soooo many things to do today that I’m starting it out by writing a handwritten Todo List. It’s much harder to ignore a physical piece of paper than a list in an app on your phone
It was a decently productive day. Got a handful of bugs ironed out on Camprtron as well as the standard 9-5 stuff.
lackluster but important all the same.
no further progress on the chores though... Perhaps tomorrow

Fall is here!
That means no more excuses that it's too hot to go camping.
We can help you find a new spot close to your favorite activities such as mountain biking, fishing and hiking!

apparently you can host the runners on your local system!
quick little convo with my buddy Claude, and boom, back up and running
uh oh.
I don't think I can wait until 11/01 to resume updating my apps...
Anybody have $5 for a just cause? 🤣
I had an entertaining morning.
The detached garage next door was getting demo'd. After trying for about 30 minutes the crew finally got it to succumb to physics. I'd say this was try #10

It expires in 2 days
So start tokenmaxxing today
Good morning X!
I got 2 full tasks and 3/4 of another 2 tasks done yesterday out of my 5.
Hope to wrap up those 2 unfinished items this morning then on to the 9-5
What else should I do today?
