You can say what you want about Taika Waititi, but he’s not wrong about the critics.
Taika Waititi has called critics “sad lost souls” after ‘KLARA AND THE SUN’ became his lowest rated film ever on Rotten Tomatoes.

So if the DC ClayFace movie, which is based on DC Characters, with the biggest criticism of it being it’s not being true to DC Comics( i.e the Batman villain doesn’t have Batman) wasn’t based on DC comics it would be good. Tried to be deep but just said it’s a bad DC Film😭

Having individual stories are good, but a big part of DC are the teams and events. If you want to build a universe, you have to build towards something. Star Wars tells individual stories with tonal differences yet stills leads to something. James Gunn doesn’t understand that.
James Gunn is defending the DCU and his decision to expand the universe with “individual stories”:
“The DCU is just an alternate universe; we can enter at any location or time and tell THAT story. I dislike the idea that individual stories aren’t meaningful unless they lead to something else. People not understanding this is strange to me, because ‘Star Wars’ has essentially been doing this for 50 years across movies, shows, games and books, admittedly without the tonal variety."
