I saw “Wildwood” yesterday. It is stupendous. If you are looking for a new fantasy epic, this is the movie for you. It is on the level of “Lord of the Rings”, “Game of Thrones” and others. There are literally no corners cut. It is spectacular. This movie is great for kids, too.

Laika has perfected stop-motion animation. Where previous movies have little imperfections to show the hand-animated nature of its production, “Wildwood” minimizes them as much as possible. It is astounding how clean it all is. And that final act! Oh my god!

Gracias, amigo. My life was immeasurably changed for the better by having met Eric Bauza in 2003. He just made everything he worked on better. A generational talent. A legend. I would write and design characters giddy thinking how he would bring them to life. And behind the scenes, an incredibly kind, humble and open-hearted good dude. How luck we all were to have been able to witness his talent shine. And boy did it shine!!! My heart goes out to his family and friends. Adios, amigo. You will never be forgotten.

Eric Bauza has sadly passed away at the age of 46. The modern voice of Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck alongside many other beloved characters.
