Today I get to present my favorite slide in Bioinformatics. It’s also the closest I get to using a meme that my students understand. #BLAST @alwayssunny @ncbi
When you search your name for #IUSSI2022 and you’re the only one who pops up. 😔😔😔 @DrStrangeAnt
And here's a part of the @GaSouthernBiol crew just before heading back to Statesboro. Me and MS students Renee Nowicki and Juan Jeronimo.
Here's @GaSouthernBiol professor Dr. Alan Harvey presenting some cool work on grasshopper eye sizes! This is work he's doing with his MS student Juan Jeronimo.
Michael Shaw is a @GaSouthernBiol undergraduate student and @GSCOSM COUR award researcher studying Nasonia hybrids. Here's Michael presenting his research at the 2022 Georgia Entomological Society meeting last week!
Had a great time at the Georgia Entomological Society meeting last week. @GaSouthernBiol was well represented! Here's MS student Renee Nowicki presenting her plans for studying Dorymyrmex Cone Ants in local sandhills this summer, funded by a @GSICPS summer research assistantship!
I got some used folders for filing class assignments, they must have been used for class groups in the past. This one is my favorite. Team Jet Kiss, I don’t know where you are but I hope you’re out there just doing your thing.
Ant Twitter, any idea on an ID for this queen? She was found, still alive, on a plankton net 15 miles off the Georgia coast. The grid is 0.5cm. I should have her in the lab next week, but I’m curious what you think. @Myrmecos @lovetheants @CorrieMoreau @TheAntlady
I don’t know my sphecids that well, but that might be Spex pennsylvanicus. They have a broad range. I took some photos of one on campus, huge wasp with huge chompers!! Nice find!
