Lagos State, well done
The Lagos Gèlè Festival is a beautiful step.
Gele is a Yoruba headgear recognized worldwide!
Honoring the gele as the crown it truly is celebrates our stylists, artisans, fabric makers, and the generations of women who carried this culture, and it's exactly the kind of cultural pride we need.
This is a nice initiative coming from the Lagos State Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
I remember my good brother @Alkaneseries standing firm in recognizing (Gele) Yoruba culture as our heritage, and taking it seriously when Awon atohunrinwa tried to hijack it!
Eko for show, and the world is watching. Proud of this initiative!

IT'S OFFICIAL! LAGOS, GET READY! 👑
Months ago, a passionate son of Lagos wrote to us about the gele. He asked that it be honoured, protected, and given its rightful place on the Lagos calendar.
We listened. We affirmed. And today, we deliver.
The Lagos Gele Festival is here! 🇳🇬
The gele is not just a headtie. It is a crown. It is Yoruba. It is ours. Born of our mothers, perfected by our artisans, worn across the world, and recognized everywhere as a symbol of who we are.
This festival will celebrate the stylists, the fabric makers, the tiers, the photographers, and the generations of women who carried this tradition on their heads and in their hearts.

Senator Adeola Solomon recently held an interactive session with The Remo Collectives at the Palace of Akarigbo with Paramount Ruler of Remoland, Oba Babatunde Ajayi, as part of his agenda for the upcoming governorship race in February 2027. Notable dignitaries in attendance included Oba Adewale Oshiberu, the Elepe of EPE,Aare Kola Oyefeso, the Aare Gbo Gbo of Remoland and President of KOKTO Group of Companies, Hon. Funmi Efuwape, Hon. Laolu Olabimtan, Ogun State Commissioner for Budget and Planning; Hon. Daisi Akintan, former Chairman of Sagamu LGA; and others.
Senator Adeola gave his submission to the collectives
At the interactive session, Senator Solomon Adeola spoke about how agriculture serves as a viable export sector. He also shared his plans to ease the regulatory burdens from the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), which often acts as a barrier between consumers and farmers, promising adequate support for the agricultural industry.
Furthermore, he mentioned that he personally owns a 100 acres of cocoa farm managed by his wife. He noted that if he can manage such a property personally, he would oversee more than 10,000 acres as governor.
He concluded that supporting farmers would cause the prices of farm produce to crash drastically, making food affordable for the people of Ogun State.

Speaking at The Collectives Interactive Session, Senator Olamilekan Adeola shared his intention to revive sports in the state.
He noted that sports is one of the most neglected sectors, leaving a bundle of local talent to waste away due to a lack of platforms to showcase their abilities. He declared that, as their governor, he is ready to provide that necessary platform.
