AFTER YEARS OF DROUGHT, IRAN’S SKIES OPEN. COINCIDENCE OR CLIMATE WAR? For decades, much of Iran has faced severe drought, dry farmland, and shrinking water supplies. Now, areas that struggled for generations are seeing rain and snow at levels not recorded in more than 60 years. The timing has raised questions. The shift followed a strike on a UAE weather-modification and cloud-seeding facility. If the region has technology that can influence precipitation, who controls it, and how has it been used? Was this simply a natural weather cycle turning in Iran’s favor? Or was outside interference involved all along? Were the U.S., Israel, and other adversaries using weather technology to block rain and snow, deepen Iran’s drought, and pressure its people? The rain returned. The questions have not.

"Al río que todo lo arranca lo llaman violento, pero nadie llama violento al lecho que lo oprime". El poeta alemán Bertolt Brecht, sobre la hipocresía cuando se habla de la violencia del oprimido pero no de la opresión diaria del sistema capitalista.

🇦🇷 Holy hell, Iguazú Falls in South America has turned into an absolute MONSTER. Authorities in Argentina were forced to SHUT DOWN tourist access after torrential rains sent the Iguazú River surging to more than 12,000 CUBIC METERS of water per second. That's nearly NINE TIMES its normal flow, crashing through one of the world's most spectacular waterfall systems on the border of Argentina and Brazil 🤯 Mother Nature is going absolutely INSANE Writer: Sol

“I don’t believe it until I hear it from you!” Listen to an exclusive call with our newest peace laureate Navi Pillay. Pillay couldn't believe that she had been awarded the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize. Kristian Berg Harpviken, Director of the Norwegian Nobel Institute, was happy to confirm that the news was true.

Israel’s destruction of Gaza’s water infrastructure is coming back to bite them. The destruction of Gaza’s sewage systems is causing polluted water to flow into the Mediterranean, contaminating the water millions of Israelis rely on.

To be a good fisherman you need know how fish think and act. This in turn requires a good knowledge of flow dynamics and how this affects the energy exerted by fish to move along water!

If you have not heard this news story, it is pretty big in the chemistry world. Being able to break down polyethylene cheaply is a big deal. It makes waste plastic more valuable, which makes it less likely people will just throw it into rivers where it flushes into the oceans.
Polyethylene contains approximately 46 megajoules of chemical energy per kilogram (about ten times the energy content of TNT by mass) stored stably in its carbon-hydrogen bonds rather than as explosive potential. The Oak Ridge molten-salt process announced this week is essentially an engineered way to release that energy as liquid fuel rather than letting it sit in a landfill.

Distinct roles, one shared direction on water. Speaking at “United for Water: A Call for Collective Action” during #UNGA81, H.E. Dr. Fahad Balghunaim, Head of the Founding Team of GWO, described the Organization as a permanent forum for governments to set common priorities, and invited Member States and institutions across the water community to join the effort.  #UnitedForWater

A little water can hold grains together. But how do these aggregates behave in a turbulent flow? @JooyParkfluids has prepared a nice video to illustrate this work (with @ramrajesh97 and @ramsudhirsharma): youtube.com/watch?v=NffZWU3y… @UMDResearch @apsfluiddynamic @UCSBengineering
