The one thing you should read on the rail strike
A facebook post from Bill Chico: "A lot of people are wondering why the railroad is facing a strike. It's not money folks, that's been ironed out already... it's quality of life issues. About 50% of railroaders are on call 24/7 unless they're on personal time or already at work. We don't have a schedule there isn't one we are on call. After 16 years I get 3 weeks vacation and 9 personal days a year. That's it... About 30 days. And the railroad wants that to be scheduled. How do you schedule a funeral in October if it's only February? Schedule for a wedding that hasn't been announced? Schedule to take your spouse to the doctor? Most people get 2 days a week off, with 52 weeks in a years plus two weeks so that equals 118 days over the year. I get 30 for the year. The railroad is trying its best to make us look like the bad guys here but we're not, we just want to see our family and live a little.

CSP is offering a way around paying a monthly subscription in allowing you to buy a new perpetual license with each new version release this seems fine to me. i'll probably end up buying every other release as support discontinues on the version i have

SUMMARY - theyre making a V2 - V2 will have a permanent liscense separate from V1, as will the eventual V3. - V2.x feature updates require subscription, until V3 rolls around and it fuses into V3's permanent liscense - This is a pattern. - Bugfixes are still free across the board
