This weekend we're celebrating all the weird and wonderful invertebrates for #InverteFest!
So for this week's #NatureDrawingClub we want to see your amazing drawings & paintings of invertebrates, from those found on the tops of the mountains to the bottom of the sea!🐛🦋🪲🐌🦀

A few awesome sea #slugs I've recently encountered during fieldwork or snorkeling. Elysia the solar-powered (open and closed versions!), Hypselodoris the bright and beautiful #nudibranch, and Dolabrifera(?!) the absolute unit of a sea hare (it was ~10cm!) #InverteFest

My first #InverteFest posting....this super cool anemone w/ a super on point tentacle ‘hair doo’! It’s so beautiful in the smoky light.

This invert always fascinates me. The bopyrid parasite, a heavily modified isopod (Pseudione galacanthae) found inside the gill chamber of a squat lobster (Munida quadrispina). The big one is the female ripe with eggs - see if you can spot the tiny parasitic male! #InverteFest

And #Invertefest 2020 begins! Imma gonna post some of my favorite inverts that I've photographed over the last 15+ years of being a mostly marine biologist. 1st up = the opalescent nudibranch (Hermissenda crassicornis) taken off the dock at @BamfieldMSC

So today I guess I have an excuse to post some invertebrate pictures, it's #InverteFest (#invertfest?)! Starting with this Harlequin Shrimp, which feeds seastars and might spend days slowly eating them alive!

We found this brand new cicada in the street, still with its exuvia. The dog loves them fresh and crunchy, but this one got away.
