In the east, you call me wren,
my hair is lantern-lit
your fingers god-like braiding time
into my vignette.
We breathe as wind skimming onyx waters, a sentient kiss without measure.
There are no jealous storms, only miles of savannah lifting its skirt to a blue moon.

we dream of haiku days
abandoned before our breaths could catch
to wonder where the meaning lay
now we feel the pull of verse
where rhythm knows no silent measure
lips & hands in arioso prayer
andante lost to faster pace
crescendo peaks, yet
still
we dream
of things unnamed

It is no surprise
that the ocean consumes
your midnights
for she dreams of you, too

to fall
and dip into the tiffany blue waters
of the earthen sky
to feel the warmth
of summer soil
and count the leaves
that ignite
with the changing seasons
from jade green
to pumpkin flame;
to fall back
to earth
and live amongst
the mortals
again

I was quiet
the one you wouldn't notice
but in the right hands
perhaps I could be art
he shaped me from shadows
into a strange creature
for better or worse
he stirred something wild
and sensuous
and I blushed in my private corner
believing quiet
too could be love.

βI donβt-β
βJust watch.β
He raises a hand.
At first, nothing happens. Then, dust motes drifting through a sunbeam pause, turn back, #constellate into miniature Saturnβs rings around his fingertips.
She stares. βHow are you doing that?β
βI donβt know. Yet.β

the flickered sunset
melts my secret bonesβ
nobody knows my body
like the dusk.
my brambled unbreath
levitates alone:
the flame unbottles me,
aqua licking rust.

warmth hung low
in the eastern sky
a yellow flower spun
in sacred tree-line
kisses planted artfully
upon her sleeping spine
one breath
to awaken
two breaths
to believe
three breaths
to leave her body
morning is conceived

How dark this night
an estranged universe
moving through me
a raven's wing soaked in stardust
in search of one more dawn
you lend a breath of mercy
across a lost horizon
my body unfolding freely
into the full span of love.

The 1st time I saw her. Starbucks. Light blue T Shirt. Tight. Einsteinβs face on front. Glasses. Pony tale. Laptop. Not my type. Then the neurons struck. Electric hype. My spine, radioactive. Storm cells. Transmitters fired. My body conspired.
I sat.
She left.
Weird.
Science.
