The most over-used word in journalism these days is “scoop.” Most of what’s labeled a “scoop” has been previously reported or is so insignificant as to not matter one bit. Obviously media types seem to believe that by touting every “scoop” they get, they are increasing their value. I think they are devaluing the real (and rare) scoops that still exist.
