Greiss has been good tonight, but I'm still blown away watching how good the #Isles have become in the defensive zone. It's so enjoyably boring to watch.

Matthew Schaefer became the first player in NHL HISTORY to play an entire five-minute overtime without leaving the ice, per @FriedgeHNIC 🤯
The 19-year-old finished with 32:16 of ice time and an assist in New York's shootout win over Nashville 😳

Tough to lose that one but the point is fine considering how the game started. Kudos for keeping the foot on the gas for 60. #Isles

It is borderline incomprehensible how the New York Islanders (25th in scoring in NHL last season) didn’t have Maxim Shabanov in their lineup half of the season… What a great fit so far in Minnesota with the Wild. Slots right into PP1 w/ goal here

Tampa: Scores on their chances
#Isles : Not so much. Only been this way for 7 seasons!

Shoutout to the people that do the awkward little jog when a car lets them cross the street.
You are not moving any faster, but the effort is beautiful. I see you. I respect you.

The fall off of EA NHL is sad to watch. I remember when new releases would have fans hyped, streamers with thousands of viewers, HUT giveaways (EA banned this years ago), EASHL with the boys, and more. Now? The whole experience is soulless, depressing, and a pathetic cash grab😔

And yes, the #Isles are like many other teams getting ready for dev camp/regular camp and have a full roster.
#Isles fans can still be sore that a 1st in the same range as the one they gave up for Brayden Schenn at the deadline was the centerpiece in deals by their two local rivals to acquire 25yo (Dorofeyev) and 24yo (Evangelista) top-6 forwards this offseason.

Huge Red Wings GM search updates from Friedman yesterday:
- Next GM will have complete autonomy
- Looking for candidate with plan to make Detroit a destination
- Steve Yzerman will NOT be involved in hockey operations
- Named Jeff Greenberg (Tigers GM) as potential candidate
