prediction markets have always been interesting to me because they turn opinions about future events into something people can actually participate in.
but beyond choosing YES or NO, thereโs more to understand: how market prices work, how participants share a pool, what liquidity does, and how to create a market with clear rules.
thatโs what led me to explore @Daejinxyz x @superteam
i decided to go beyond simply making predictions. i explored an existing crypto market, took a position based on my own reasoning, and created a football market of my own.
in this thread, iโll share what iโve learned about daejin, how shared-pool markets work, why i picked NO on solana outperforming bitcoin, and how i created my arsenal vs everton market.
letโs get into it. ๐งต๐

You can trust a brand and still end up with a product the brand never made.
Thatโs the difference between trusting a brand and trusting the product in your hand.
Those selling fake products rely on the reputation brands have spent years building. They copy names, packaging, and appearances to make fake products look original.
Thatโs why recognising a brand isnโt always enough.
Real consumer confidence comes from being able to verify that the product in your hand actually came from the brand you trust.
Trust the brand, Verify the product.

Creating a prediction market is one thing. determining the correct outcome after an event happens is another.
Imagine a market asking whether a football team will score in the next 30 seconds.
If it takes hours to confirm the result, the opportunity to use that market in real time may already be gone.
This creates a limit for prediction markets. the time it takes to confirm an outcome affects which events can become markets.
๐๐ผ๐ ๐ฑ๐ผ๐ฒ๐ ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐๐ผ๐น๐๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป ๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐ธ?
Once an event happens, the market needs to establish the outcome before it can be settled.
This involves three main steps:
โ Detect the event: Identify when the event happens.
โ Check the outcome: Use the relevant information to determine what happened.
โ Resolve the market: Confirm the outcome so the market can proceed to settlement.
When people have to review and confirm every result manually, the process can take time and limit how many markets can be handled.
@fermah_xyz discusses several types of markets that could benefit from automated resolution. here are three examples:
โ Short-lived events: Markets based on events that happen within seconds.
โ Creator milestones: Markets tied to measurable changes, such as a streamer reaching a certain number of followers.
โ Blockchain events: Markets based on activity recorded on the blockchain, including events within individual blocks.
These markets need outcomes to be checked quickly and reliably. creator milestones may also require data to be tracked as it changes.
Fermah provides proof-generation infrastructure that can execute rules for evaluating outcomes and produce cryptographic proofs that support settlement.
These proofs provide verifiable evidence that the required computation was carried out according to the rules. this can help automate outcome evaluation and reduce reliance on manual review.
There is still an important consideration, though. faster resolution requires reliable information. if the evidence is unclear or an outcome is disputed, the system needs a way to handle that uncertainty.
Prediction markets depend on more than the number of people willing to participate. they also depend on how quickly and reliably their outcomes can be determined.
When outcomes can be evaluated and resolved faster, more types of events may become practical to support, including events that are difficult to manage through slower, manual processes.

How Does Rialo Execution Layer Turn Application Instructions Into State Changes?
When an application submits a transaction, how does its logic actually become a change in the blockchain's state?
the execution layer processes the transaction's instructions and determines the resulting state changes. This is where application logic is carried out, rather than simply recorded.
Rialo execution-engine design introduces conditional transactions and targets lower execution latency, with support for dynamic workloads.
the important part is how these capabilities fit into the execution process:
โ applications can express more than a basic request to update state
โ their logic can depend on conditions and the demands of the application.
Rialo identifies hybrid concurrency control as part of this design, which we'll examine separately to understand how competing transactions are managed.
The key question is not just whether a transaction gets processed, but how its instructions are executed and its resulting state changes are handled correctly.

๐ฒ๐ฐ๐๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป ๐๐ป๐ด๐ถ๐ป๐ฒ
let me tell u this, a transaction being submitted to a blockchain is only the beginning transacting , the network still needs to execute the instructions and determine how the transaction changes the system's state.
think of sending money to someone as when
you initiate a transfer, but the system must process the instruction, check the relevant conditions, and apply the changes to both accounts.
that's t is the role of an execution engine
In Rialo architecture, the Rialo Execution Engine is designed aroun
โ Event-driven execution - Applications can respond when specific events occur.
โ Conditional transactions - Transactions execute when their required conditions are met.
โ Support for dynamic workloads - The execution engine is designed to handle changing transaction demands and application activity.
Its role goes beyond simply processing a request. It provides the execution layer through which application logic is carried out and state changes take place.
Why does this execution engine matter?
--> For developers : execution is where the logic behind an application's actions gets carried out.
--> For applications : transactions can involve conditions and events that determine when an action should execute.
--> For the network: execution must preserve correctness while handling the demands of real-world applications.
Rialo also identifies hybrid concurrency control as part of its execution engine design. We'll explore that separately when we reach the concurrency model.
the grate stuff here is that an execution engine is where a blockchain's instructions become actual changes to its state.
Understanding this layer helps explain how Rialo intends to support applications that do more than simply record transactions.

One of the issues in preparing blockchains for quantum threats is that not all parts of the network are under their own control.
@Starknet can work toward quantum resistance in the areas it controls, but its bridge and data availability are still tied to Ethereum.
If Starknet became a standalone L1, it might have more control over its security upgrades and when to implement them.
The concept is still on the table, and any transition would need governance.
How much control do you think a blockchain needs to adapt to future security threats?
Some things are hard to change when they are built into a whole system.
The same challenge can be faced with blockchain security.
Think of a traditional chainโs signature scheme as a lock hard-wired into a building. Changing it could mean renovating the whole structure.
On @Starknet , transaction validation is programmable at the account level. You can change how your account verifies transactions without necessarily waiting for a network-wide upgrade.
Quantum computing may be a threat to some of the signature methods in use today.
Post-quantum signatures have been demonstrated, but they are not yet standardized or audited for general use.
Programmable accounts give Starknet more flexibility to adapt as cryptographic needs evolve.

a launch should be judged by what it sustains, not just what it attracts
the first 72 hours can reveal early retention patterns and operational issues, but consistent user activity, transparent communication, and real product delivery over time provide stronger evidence of durability
@RebateLaunch needs to be evaluated across the full lifecycle, not just the initial hype
@starlisting
First-hour volume measures attention.
It doesnโt measure staying power.
With @RebateLaunch launches, Iโd separate discovery, continued
participation, and actual project progress before forming a view.
Momentum is worth watching. It just isnโt proof of durability.
A useful post-launch evaluation window is the first 72 hours for operational issues and early retention signals, with longer-term
judgment depending on whether user activity, communication, and product delivery continue after the initial campaign period
