Did they really just use AI for this? we waited years for chapter 5 and they are using AI to promote it now!?

Btw they made an official response to this and said it was a social experiment, but this is my opinion on that post if you care.
I don’t know how to feel about this.. on one hand it was so obvious it was AI it was kind of strange on why they would do a AI teaser after making so many cinematic teasers.
But I also feel like there were better ways to show how AI is not a good idea instead of using AI.. I hope this was all really just a test and they never use generative AI again but with that being said I don’t think they were “toxic” from what I’ve seen it’s just fans concerned on why you’re resulting to using AI when you have the models, the team, and the budget to make one render.
In my opinion they had every right to be mad and concerned about the franchise and games. But I’m glad to hear that they won’t be using AI in the game nor this franchise. But this will definitely leave a sour taste for some fan.. and I feel that’s completely understandable but eh that’s just my take 🤷♂️

So the real purpose of the IG post was to prove a point to a partner about why using AI is not a good idea. Call it a social experiment. They felt people had softened on AI as it has become more prevalent on social media and in games. They were not convinced we would get a ton of hate still. A single post on Instagram only needed 1 hour to prove my point. Our previous AI post on here (a case render mockup) received almost no hate. Meanwhile, IG was the opposite. Yet despite the hate in the comments, the post was more liked than our normal posts. Different audiences on different platforms? However, the toxic hive mind vitriol displayed deserves no apology and won't get one from me.
