October 13th marked one year since the remaining 20 living Israeli hostages were finally reunited with their families after 738 days in captivity. Witnessing those reunions was one of the most meaningful moments of my life, and one I will never forget. On this anniversary, we honor every hostage - those who returned home and those we tragically lost - and the extraordinary courage and resilience of their families. I am deeply grateful to @POTUS for his unwavering leadership and determination, @SecRubio for his steadfast support, @jaredkushner for his invaluable partnership throughout this effort, and our partners in Israel, Qatar, Egypt, and Türkiye for their tireless work to bring the hostages home. Their return was a testament to the power of diplomacy, perseverance, and our shared humanity. We will never forget their suffering, their sacrifice, or the importance of continuing our work toward lasting peace.

One year ago today, all 20 remaining living Israeli hostages finally came home after two years of unimaginable suffering in Gaza. Welcoming them home and seeing them reunited with their families was one of the most special moments of my life. After so much pain, uncertainty, and heartbreak, seeing families embrace their loved ones again was something I will never forget. The hostages endured hell, and their families demonstrated extraordinary strength, courage, and resilience through the darkest of times. @SEPeaceMissions and I are deeply grateful to @POTUS for his leadership and determination, @VP, @SecRubio, and our partners in Israel, Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey - particularly @netanyahu, @AmbDermer, @TamimBinHamad, @MBA_AlThani_, Ali Al-Thwadi, @AlsisiOfficial, General Hasan, @EgyptForeignMin, @RTErdogan, @HakanFidan, @ikalin1, and many others who worked tirelessly to make this day possible. Above all, today belongs to the freed hostages and their families. Their strength and determination will always inspire me.

Yesterday, on World Alzheimer’s Day, we were reminded of the importance of nutrition in supporting brain health and those impacted by Alzheimer’s disease. At Planet Harvest, we know that food is medicine. I’m proud to partner with @EliLillyandCo and @thrive to deliver 13,500 fresh food boxes—more than 200,000 pounds of nutritious fruits and vegetables—alongside brain health resources across 10 U.S. cities. Together with our local partners, we’re turning a shared commitment to healthier communities into meaningful, tangible support for thousands of families. I hope this effort inspires more partnerships that expand access to the resources people need to live healthier lives. 💪🥦🥕🍅🥒🍊🥑🍋📦 @PlanetHarvest1

25 years later, we remember the lives lost, the heroes who ran toward danger, and the spirit of a nation that came together. We remember. We honor. We will never forget. 🇺🇸

A couple years ago on @lexfridman podcast I cited a piece of wisdom from @DollyParton that has resonated within me since I first heard it. "I don't criticize and condemn; I love and accept." That quote, like so much of what made Dolly Parton an American icon, was deceptively simple — uncomplicated on its face but profound and deeply moving beneath the surface. Goodbye to a bright light. A peerless singer, incredible songwriter, gifted comic actress, tireless philanthropist, accomplished businesswoman and true original. We never met but I adored and admired Dolly greatly.

Alongside the novels, I have been dipping into A Joseph Campbell Companion, (thank you @patrick_oshag !) which I have been opening each night this summer before bed to read and reflect on a few pages or a chapter. I am a huge Joseph Campbell fan, and his reflections on myth, meaning, and the art of living are a quiet, grounding way to end the day. A friend also gave me David R. Hawkins’ Power vs. Force. I read some of his work years ago, and enjoyed returning to his exploration of the difference between power cultivated within and force imposed from without.

A great book rarely ends on its final page. The best ones stay with us, expanding our understanding of the past, of one another and sometimes of ourselves. What have you read this summer that has stayed with you? I would love to add a few new titles to my stack heading into fall📖

Six years ago, President Trump launched the Abraham Accords and opened a new chapter of peace, partnership, and prosperity in the Middle East. Many said it was impossible. But with courageous leadership, persistence, and a small group of people willing to challenge old assumptions, we proved that the impossible could be achieved. For too long, the region was trapped by old ideas and failed frameworks that managed conflict rather than solved it, and too often created incentives that perpetuated division and instability. The idea behind the Abraham Accords was simple: instead of reinforcing the things that divide people, build bonds that bring them together. Increase understanding. Expand trade and investment. Deepen security cooperation. Create tangible benefits that make people’s lives better and give everyone a stake in peace. What began as a bold vision has delivered billions in trade, joint innovation, new friendships and partnerships, and a powerful alternative to the failed approaches of the past. The Middle East is once again at an inflection point. There are breakthrough opportunities today that many will say are impossible. But we have seen what can happen when leaders reject conventional thinking, focus on common interests, and have the courage to pursue a better future. The Abraham Accords showed that a different path is possible. Now we have an opportunity to build an even broader movement around cooperation, shared prosperity and security—and replace the failed ideas of the past with a new model that gives people across the region something better to believe in and build toward. We surprised the world once. With the right leadership, focus, patience and courage, I believe we can do it again.

Tonight, I had the profound privilege of welcoming Robert Gilman home to the United States after more than four years of detention in Russia. Robert is a patriot—a former United States Marine who served our country with honor. He can now finally return to his family and receive the medical care he needs. His return is another testament to @POTUS’s extraordinary leadership and unwavering commitment to bringing Americans home. Under his leadership, Marc Fogel and Ksenia Karelina were also brought home from Russia. At the President’s direction, Secretary Marco Rubio, Adam Boehler, Sebastian Gorka, Jared Kushner and I worked closely together to secure Robert’s release. We thank President Putin for granting Robert a pardon on humanitarian grounds and for his personal engagement throughout this process. President Trump will continue fighting every day to bring ALL Americans detained abroad safely HOME. Welcome home, Robert. 🇺🇸
