Poor darling. Another victim of the Russian savages.
Slowly but steadily, Ryabushka is recovering after a head injury. She got it after a shelling in Slovyansk. The dog’s eye couldn’t be saved, but another one is doing okay, and she’s healing well.
Please help these kind Ukrainian rescuers if you can. They risk their lives every day to save precious animals. They and Ukraine deserve our support.

Ryabushka and many other evacuated animals need your help to survive the atrocities of war. We are raising funds to cover their vet costs. It is your donations that can change these animals’ lives for the better 💙 uanimals.org/en/zbir/fundrai…
❤️‍🩹A tick bite can be deadly for animals. Thanks to your support of our anti-parasite fundraiser, we delivered a batch of anti-parasite treatments to the public organization Let's Save Together in the Odesa region. They will help protect 130 animals from parasites and infections. We’re grateful to everyone who supports our fundraiser and helps us provide this essential care.

Doing this in the midst of war. What great people.
Today we are gathering 35 Ukrainian volunteers for this year’s last nature clean-up. They are now on the south of Ukraine — in Kuyalnyk National Park in Odesa region. Thank you to our amazing UAnimals Community volunteers for this shared adventure!
Poor Robin. Saved again by Ukrainian soldiers. But he's in a state of shock. The Russian savages will be so very disappointed they failed to kill him. Russia destroys everything.
Survived a Guided Bomb Strike: Rescue of Robin, a Dog from #Kramatorsk Soldiers dug him out of the rubble. Robin suffered a paw injury and was treated more than 2 weeks at our #ARK clinic. After rehabilitation, he’ll be ready for adoption❤️ PayPal: [email protected]

Poor Tyler. I hope the scum who did all this to him get what's coming to them. I weep for Tyler and the beautiful people of KSAR who had to go through the immense pain of not being able to save him. Please help KSAR save more little ones like Tyler. So very sad.
Tonight we said goodbye to Tyler. He hadn’t been with us long, but he was a very loved boy. He spent the afternoon in the sunshine on blankets outside while it warm and then came inside and had kebabs for dinner, accompanied by his favorite caretakers all day. Tyler was a very old dog from Panjshir province. At some point several years ago someone shot off his front left foot and back right leg with a shotgun. Two distinct shots. A trigger pulled twice. We don’t know how he survived the initial traumatic injuries nor how he managed to live on the streets for years there with such hindered mobility and pain, but he did. Several weeks ago he was found and rescued by a KSAR staff member and brought down to our clinic. We initially thought that the old leg injuries were his only, albeit enormous, hindrance to a long and healthy life. X-rays several days ago revealed both the shotgun pellets as well as more recent trauma, likely from being hit by a car. This caused internal injuries, hernias, and pelvic and rib fractures that proved insurmountable. Today his hospice with us ended and he can finally rest, free of his body. Only rarely have we seen such profound a intentional suffering and it is blistering. But as hard as it was to see, we know he bore much worse, so all of us here gave him our love and affectionate and time. It is heartbreaking beyond measure that we couldn’t give him a longer life in the sunshine. He has just been buried in our gardens, bringing an end to a very long hard day here in Kabul. We have so much ahead of us this week to barrel through October’s fundraising, but tonight the heart needs some rest. We leave you with his beautiful face and huge inquisitive expressive ears.

🐾 Meet our newest residents: Mama Zuri and her pack of eight 🐶! Their 📖 They were born between 2-3 days ago on the outskirts of town. We don't know what led this beautiful girl to give birth in such a public area and our rescue team was relieved to see that she was in good health on arrival. Regardless, she has been (very carefully and slowly) scooped up together with her puppies and they're finishing their first vet checks before settling in for a safe warm night. We cannot care for dogs like Zuri or her babies without you. It is hard to say no to newborn paws, and it should be. It always should be. We need your help to make sure Zuri is never afraid for her babies again. 💊 🔗 secure.givelively.org/donate…

Please help if you can. A great cause.
🐾 NEW SHELTER UPDATE! 🐾 This video was taken at our new temporary shelter site this morning, and after everything it has taken to reach this point, seeing this progress feels incredible. For almost two months, we have attended meeting after meeting to agree the land allocation. We have also spent countless hours working with engineers and contractors, repeatedly adjusting our plans to keep costs as low as possible without compromising the dogs’ safety. Today: 🐾 The entire site is finally fenced 🐾 A contractor is building the frame that will support our clinic 🐾 An engineer is marking out every section ready for construction There is still an enormous amount of work ahead, but the empty land is finally beginning to resemble our dogs’ future home. 💛 Erbil has experienced more rain than we would normally expect at this time of year. We have everything crossed for a few dry weeks so progress is not delayed—we desperately need to be ready to move very soon. Unfortunately, construction is not our only challenge. Yesterday, we explained that everyday shelter essentials have increased by at least 9%. Today, we replenished the drinking water for our staff. Last month, a 17-litre bottle cost 1,700 IQD. Today, the same bottle costs 2,000 IQD—an increase of almost 18%. Individually, these increases may appear manageable, but together they are placing enormous pressure on our already stretched budget. Please consider starting a small monthly donation. Just £2, $2 or €2 may not feel like much, but when many people give that amount every month, it creates reliable income that helps us feed the dogs, provide veterinary care and keep the shelter operating. Thanks to your incredible efforts, War Paws has climbed into 3rd place on the @MyGivingCircle leaderboard! 🎉 We still have a long way to go to reach 1st place and hold it until the end of December, so please keep voting every week and donating whenever you can. 💙 Vote, donate or begin monthly giving: mygivingcircle.org/war-paws/… Together, we are turning this empty land into a safe home. 🐶🏗️💛 #warpaws #shelterlife #saveourshelter #dogs

These wonderful rescuers face enormous challenges including having to move their entire shelter. That's on top of the usual running costs of caring for so many animals. Please donate and vote for them on My Giving Circle.
🐾 MEET OUR NEW NEIGHBOURS 🐾 This lovely group of adult dogs and puppies lives just outside our new temporary shelter, close to the surrounding warehouses. The puppies’ mother, Evie, has been brought into our clinic so she can be spayed. Meanwhile, our team has started feeding the entire group twice every day. Over the coming days and weeks, they will all receive: 🐾 Vaccinations 🐾 Microchips 🐾 Deworming treatment 🐾 Flea and tick treatment 🐾 Any additional veterinary care they need Once they have been fully assessed and treated, we hope the warehouse owners will allow us to provide shelter for them and continue feeding them twice daily in the area they already know as home. Although we would love to bring every one of them inside, we must be realistic about the limited space available at the new shelter. Relocating our existing dogs will already be incredibly stressful for them, and introducing an entirely new group at the same time could create even more anxiety and disruption. Our preferred solution is therefore to help these dogs remain safely in their familiar territory while ensuring they receive food, shelter and veterinary care. Whatever happens, we will make sure they are looked after. They are now part of the growing number of animals relying upon War Paws. 💛 Louise celebrates her 54th birthday in one week, and her birthday fundraiser has already exceeded its original £540 target—thank you so much! However, it would absolutely make her birthday if we could break the £1,000 barrier. If you are considering making a donation this week, Louise would be thrilled if you donated through her birthday fundraiser below. Every donation will help us care for dogs like Evie, her puppies and their adult companions while we continue preparing for the enormous shelter move ahead. 🎂 Donate to Louise’s birthday fundraiser: facebook.com/donate/15443093… Thank you for helping us ensure that, whether they live inside or outside our shelter, no dog is forgotten. 🐶🐾💛 #warpaws #freeroamingdogs #puppies #shelterlife #birthday
