Dave was who invited me in 2015 to join his team, it was an easy decision and the best decision I’ve ever made
Replying to @4life
Some decisions in life just get better with time. Back in 2015, our mutual friend Monica introduced me to Dave Daughtrey . That introduction opened the door to Dave graciously inviting me to become part of the business group he was building—a global community with 4Life. Thankfully, I had enough good sense to say YES. Looking back more than a decade later, it was truly one of the best decisions of my life. And the biggest blessing hasn’t just been the business or the places it has taken us. It’s the people and the relationships. Dave and his wonderful wife, Gabi, have become dear personal friends and very special mentors to Judy and me. They’ve taught us a lot about business and leadership, but even more about serving others, believing in people, and staying the course. I’ve learned that some of life’s greatest blessings begin with the right introduction, the right people, and simply having the courage and faith to say YES. I’ll always be grateful to Monica for making that introduction back in 2015. 🙏🏼❤️🌎

🚨 Ethiopia 🇪🇹 Three Chinese Firms Begin Building Factories at Kilinto Special Economic Zone #EBR_News Oct 21, 2026 Three Chinese companies have started constructing factories at the Kilinto Special Economic Zone, with a combined investment of about USD 10 million, according to the Industrial Parks Development Corporation (IPDC). The companies operate in the cosmetics and medical packaging industries, the corporation said. Fitsum Ketema, Deputy Chief Executive Officer for Park Administration and Operations at IPDC, officially launched the construction work, the corporation stated. The project will cover 3.7 hectares and include nine factory sheds of varying sizes and four office buildings, according to Fitsum. The three firms are DF Cosmetics, Calcali and Roadmap, IPDC said. Fitsum recalled the repeated efforts by the corporation's senior leadership to attract the companies to Ethiopia and expressed satisfaction that they had produced results. He also assured the investors that IPDC would provide the support needed to complete construction quickly and begin operations as soon as possible. The company owners, for their part, indicated that they plan to finish construction in less than a year, according to the corporation. Once operational, the factories are expected to create jobs for Ethiopians and supply products to both domestic and international markets, IPDC said. The corporation also pointed to the foreign currency benefits. By making products locally that are now imported, the companies are expected to reduce foreign currency spending, IPDC said. This is known as import substitution: when domestic output replaces goods that would otherwise be bought abroad, less hard currency leaves the country. The companies are also expected to earn foreign currency through exports, the corporation added.

Dangote Targets $100 Billion in Annual Revenue by 2030, With Refineries Expected to Deliver Most of It #EBR_News Oct 20, 2026 Dangote Group aims to raise its annual revenue to $100 billion by 2030, up from the $36 billion it expects to close this year, and has lifted its investment plan to about $50 billion to get there. Group President Aliko Dangote set out the "Vision 2030" targets in Addis Ababa last week on October 15 at an investor roadshow for the Dangote Petroleum Refinery initial public offering (IPO). He said the group's revenue had grown despite the sharp devaluation of the Nigerian naira. According to Dangote, revenue was about $3.3 billion in 2020 and $18.2 billion last year. It reached $27 billion in the first nine months of this year, and he expects the group to close the year at about $36 billion. Reaching $100 billion would require nearly three times that level within four years. He said the group intends to sell at least 10 percent of its Ethiopian fertilizer business on the Ethiopian Securities Exchange. He framed the whole programme as African industrialization, saying the continent should turn raw materials into finished goods before exporting them rather than export raw materials. 🚨 Ethiopia 🇪🇹 Ethiopia Attracts $1.432 Billion in Foreign Direct Investment in First Quarter of Fiscal Year #EBR_News Oct 20, 2026 Ethiopia attracted $1.432 billion in foreign direct investment (FDI) in the first quarter of the 2026/27 fiscal year, well above its target of $900 million, according to the Ethiopian Investment Commission (EIC). The commission shared the figures on Tuesday at a forum evaluating its quarterly performance, in a post published on its official channels. The result represents a 49 percent increase compared with the same period last year, the commission said. Speaking at the forum, Meleket Sahlu, the commission's deputy commissioner, said notable and tangible results were registered because of strong operational measures taken by the institution. The report presented at the session noted that the gains came from resolving operational bottlenecks, strengthening investment monitoring and support, using investment incentives, promoting expansion and facilitating the reinvestment of retained earnings, alongside close coordination with partner institutions. On licensing, the EIC said it issued 179 new investment licences against a target of 123, a 45.5 percent rise from the corresponding period last year. Of these, 122 were issued outside Special Economic Zones (SEZs), while 57 were registered within them. The commission also signed 110 agreements within SEZs and Free Trade Zones against a target of 50, more than doubling its plan. Project implementation also moved ahead, according to the report. A total of 81 projects entered the implementation stage and 66 reached production, with both exceeding their planned execution rates. Export revenue from investment projects reached $238 million during the quarter, surpassing its target, while more than 22,000 new jobs were created for citizens. Source: @EBRnews

Saudi Arabia helped secure and expand Jordan’s access to the Red Sea through territorial arrangements in 1925 and 1965. In 1925, the Aqaba and Ma’an districts came under Transjordan’s control. On August 9, 1965, the two countries exchanged territory, giving Jordan approximately ~19 kilometers of additional coastline along the Gulf of Aqaba and allowing for the expansion of the Port of Aqaba. #Ethiopia #SaudiArabia #Jordan #Eritrea
