Latvia has called for an extraordinary meeting of the UN🇺🇳 Security Council after horrific Russian attacks on civilians in Ukraine, including on an aid distribution centre in Komyshuvakha, where at least 26 innocent people were killed.
During Latvia’s presidency @UN Security Council 🇱🇻 will focus on defending international law and accountability, support to Ukraine 🇺🇦 and impact of new technologies on peace and security.

U.S. Army Green Berets assigned to the 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne) trained alongside the Latvian Special Operations Unit during a bilateral deep strike exercise.
The exercise strengthened interoperability and reinforced partnership between the United States and Latvia.

During the visit 🇱🇻’s FM @Braze_Baiba and 🇪🇪’s FM @Tsahkna discussed current issues in bilateral cooperation between Latvia and Estonia, regional security, the situation in the Middle East, transatlantic relations and current issues on the EU 🇪🇺 agenda.
🛡️ Significant attention was paid to Russia’s aggression against Ukraine and continued support for Ukraine 🇺🇦. The Ministers discussed the need to maintain international pressure on Russia, including sanctions and other measures to limit Russia’s military capabilities and reduce the risk of continued aggression.
