People tell me I should write a book about my life. As they learn more, they stop believing all these things have happened to just one person; until they see it happen. That tells me that if I wrote my own story, no one would believe it... And that's why I write fiction.

How adults have viewed the younger generation throughout history.
For centuries, adults have criticized younger generations as lazy, spoiled, disrespectful, or lacking direction. From philosophers in the first century BC to commentators in the 2000s, generation after generation has warned that “kids these days” are a sign of society’s decline.
Yet the pattern reveals more about changing attitudes than young people themselves. Every generation challenges the values it inherits, only to eventually face the same criticism from the generation that follows.
