Not my finest moment 🫠 The reaction to it has been a bit mad mind, getting called all sorts It's quite obvious I misheard the question and just smashed the buzzer, I literally won the quiz 😂 Though, it does look like a good scrap. Credit to @bnwbanter for the brilliant picture

Lot of people asking what I heard, so I basically just slammed the buzzer and didn't listen to the question, it's as simple as that Competitive edge took over, but the amount of people who believe I actually thought Milburn and Shearer had a fight on the pitch is mental It's also a bit of fun, some people taking it way over the top

Relegation battle this season, one of many teams but absolutely involved in it But even if Newcastle finish 17th this season, I believe you should stick with Jaissle because chopping and changing managers while the squad remains the same will get us nowhere Plenty of these players have stayed for too long and are collectively getting worse, coupled with a few talented players and then young ones has led to this situation I hope Jaissle can see that and trusts the summer signings more going forward, but he needs time Full conversation on the latest edition of Inside The Toon #NUFC

Absolutely dire that, no other word for it, and we are in a relegation battle But I still don't think Jaissle should be sacked, he's definitely making a lot of mistakes, let's be honest on that But the reason we are here is from years and years of dreadful decisions around transfers both incoming and crucially, not moving the right players on You could sack Jaissle, and the manager would still have a squad of a lot of players who probably shouldn't be here anymore despite their positive contributions in the past This squad isn't up to standard at all and some of the money wasted has been unbelievable The one thing I'd like Jaissle to do now is trust Steur, Toure and Bamba with minutes because he's tried to go to the old guard, and they just aren't at the level anymore But nothing will change until this squad is ripped up, I'm sure that's the end for some people regarding Jaissle, but it goes way beyond the manager #NUFC

Just going to say that you need to stick with Jaissle. There is no way we should lose that game yet we have, so people call for him to leave. He can't account for Dedic's terrible error or Barnes not being award a blatan penalty. The manager is there to create a system that gets you into the final third and one that limits opportunities in your own final third. That bit definitely needs working on, but even then, we didn't concede too many chances. And Newcastle had more than enough to win the game. Ultimately, this year is going to be rough, but you have to stick with the manager because that patience will be rewarded. #NUFC

Quick thoughts - A massive win that wasn't pretty at times. In the first half, I was extremely concerned as we offered absolutely nothing and looked lost. Second half couldn't have been more different, and we are seventh, and it's certainly not all perfect, but Jaissle changed it and it worked, which deserves huge credit. Hornicek - Few people questioning him recently, but he made a few huge saves, dealt with balls into the box and started the first goal. Deserved clean sheet. Dedic - Makes a massive difference on the right. Positive in every action and a big role in both goals with a lovely cutback for Barnes. Schar and Burn - Huge decision to call on the old guard once more, but they helped us get a clean sheet. Lack of pace a problem, but they were solid. Nico G - Only player in the first half who tried anything. Second half, he was top class. Aggressive on and off the ball and some delightful skill for that second goal. Man of the Match. Joelinton - I was concerned about him playing, but he performed well, especially in the second half. Unlucky not to get an assist for Willock. Barnes and Murphy - We all know their deficiencies, but Murphy's crossing has never been in doubt and neither has Barnes' finishing. Unbelievable cross for Osula from Murphy, clinical finish by Barnes. Osula - Felt sorry for him in the first half, tbh. But give him chances, and he will score goals. It might look simple, but he's there to score it. Then after that, the confidence was back. Jaissle - There have been calls to sack him, but Newcastle are seventh in the league, and though it's not even close to being perfect. Whatever he said at half time worked, proving he's a very good motivater. He made some huge calls with the XI, and they worked. #NUFC

Burn and Schar, I was not expecting that - hope they are both class Murphy and Joelinton concern me, though. Ideally don't want either starting, tbh Great to have Ramsey and Elanga back with Osula leading the line. #NUFC

No excuses today for Newcastle United. This is a Crystal Palace team that is in poor form and has just been in Turkey to face Besiktas. They had to play a strong team in that game, and they will be tired, while they lack legs in midfield as well. Our record at Selhurst Park is poor but what better way to end that than with a good performance and a win. Equally, need some changes to the XI today, I don't want to see Joelinton in a midfield two and I think it's probably time for Wissa to come out of the side as well. Team I'd like to see Hornicek Dedic Schar Botman Hall Nico Steur Miley Barnes MFP (if not ill) Osula #NUFC

This is concerning, tbh. It is no coincidence that Newcastle's best displays in possession have happened with Sean Steur in midfield. I'd like to see him partner Nico, but these quotes suggest that won't be happening any time soon. #NUFC
Matthias Jaissle on Sean Steur: "First of all, we are all sure what great potential Sean has. "He has shown that already. Right now, Nico (Gonzalez) is doing the job good in that position.” #NUFC

I disagree with calls to sack Jaissle already, but totally understand why people are concerned and worried. I don't think it has all been bad with positives to take from Liverpool, Spurs and Hull specifically. Equally, I am not blind to the issues we are having that need to be resolved. The Joelinton in midfield experiment as part of a two didn't work, so I'd like to not see that again. And though the 3-1-6 is definitely a concern as well, the press is more of an issue for me, as it needs to be all in or everyone drops off, you can't have the defence sitting deep but the forwards and midfield pressing as it becomes way too easy for the opposition to break through the middle of the pitch. #NUFC

A statement on yesterday….. Everything I said in that interview was true. However, rest assured I’m doing my best to turn things round. I have been in a mental health clinic for the last 10 weeks, finally discharging so I could attempt to play in Belfast I owed that to my family, in particular my daughter to see me play for what could be the last time….. I also owed it to the fans who have supported me throughout my 21 years on tour I also owed that to World Snooker who have been amazing from day on in all this, in particular Simon Brownell and Neil Tomkins who have remained in touch regularly, even Simon paying me a visit in the clinic itself I’m not ok, but I’m ok in that itself. I’ve been much worse in the last few months than you saw yesterday. I literally didn’t see a future in anything….. My daughter kept me going, the therapists, staff and all the other patients were amazing and helped me through some really dark days I see the light now that I couldn’t see before but I do now. I also know it won’t happen overnight. I’m a work in progress!!! My fight and determination on the table has always been there for ones to see. I need to show those same fighting qualities off it now for a while Please don’t detract anything from Jordan yesterday, he’s been aware of my struggles and that can’t have been easy to play in but he handled it with grace and skill as I knew he would. Im proud to call him a friend I hope the rest of the event is a success and I will continue my treatments going forward and then see what’s ahead Thank you to every single message I have received on here, instagram, Facebook, text messages and WhatsApp’s, I’ve seen them all but a bit overwhelmed to reply right now. Just know that they have helped me a lot but I’m not going anywhere just yet!!!! I have so much to live for and this is only the beginning of my new journey Also, I was not made to do any interviews, I was simply given a choice and felt I owed it to everyone to speak. The media team at WST have been incredible through all this too Thank you all x
