After 10 nights on the road (4 in St. Petersburg, 5 in Cleveland, then 1 more in St. Pete), my stint covering the MLB postseason this year is over.
Fun time watching the Rays best the Guardians in 6 games in the ALCS to win the AL pennant.
A couple stories from Game 6 below ⬇️
What a moment it was for Rays star slugger Junior Caminero, who certainly savored his 1st career postseason home run: mlb.com/rays/news/junior-cam…
Freddy Peralta couldn’t have imagined earlier his season that he’d end up winning ALCS MVP and would be heading to the World Series.
Now, “Fastball Freddy” prepares to face one of his old teams: mlb.com/rays/news/freddy-per…
Bryan Baker sends the Rays to the World Series.
And he clearly was trying to throw his glove to the Tropicana Field roof after finishing off ALCS Game 6.
Back at The Trop for ALCS Game 6.
The Rays could punch their ticket to the World Series tonight. Or the Guardians will force a Game 7 to be played tomorrow night.
The Orioles have their new general manager, hiring Jared Banner on Monday morning to work alongside president of baseball operations Mike Elias: mlb.com/orioles/news/jared-b…
Tyler Wells: “I’m sure you saw my face afterwards. I was pretty amped up. You don’t realize it in the moment, but these are some of the biggest moments of all of our careers.”
Now, Bryan Baker closes out the Rays’ 3-1 win over the Guardians in Game 5 of the ALCS here in Cleveland.
The former Orioles on Tampa Bay’s roster are 1 win away from an AL pennant and a ticket to the World Series.
This is probably the most amped up I've seen Tyler Wells coming off a mound.
The right-hander struck out Guardians star José Ramírez swinging to end the 8th inning, preserving the Rays' 3-1 lead in this crucial Game 5 of the ALCS.
Channeling my inner @ByMattWeyrich here in Cleveland with a weather update.
Not looking like ALCS Game 4 will begin on time. Rain is in the forecast through the 9 p.m. hour.
Tyler Wells strikes out the Guardians' side in the bottom of the 6th inning in Game 3 of the ALCS.
The right-hander has 4 K's over 2 scoreless innings of relief today.
Junior Caminero snagged a liner, then delivered a Dikembe Mutombo-esque gesture.
“I play like that, you know? I play like that … It’s about the game, competing and having fun.”
In Game 2 of the ALCS, the Rays were sparked by a finger wag and retro swag: mlb.com/rays/news/junior-cam…
Yesterday, the AL East bat standings on the Tropicana Field suite level incorrectly had the Orioles in 5th place, rather than 4th.
According to a ballpark employee, a fan pointed it out last night. And today, it has been corrected.
The O’s have taken their rightful spot in 4th.
Former Orioles CF Cedric Mullins hits the 2nd postseason home run of his career.
He went deep in Game 2 of Baltimore's AL Wild Card Series loss to Kansas City in 2024. Now, he goes deep for Tampa Bay in tonight's ALCS Game 1 vs. Cleveland.
