@JakeHarding is a YC founder, creator of @getvicarious & our newest engineer.
He's also based in Whitefish MT and first found us via twitter!

I used @getvicarious to create and sync a list of all accounts I’m following, set that list to be reverse chron, named it “Latest” and pinned it, and now I can quickly swipe between ranked (algorithm) and all tweets as they happen

I'm in the middle of cleaning my house, let's see if my $20/mo setup holds up 🤞

Read all about what's new with Vicariously in this month's product update. I'm not sure there's a better way to spend #EarthDay2021.

Good news! Vicariously has some product updates!
One of the new additions is a blog. Check out the first post to see what else has been updated.

I built favbar.co so I could get some divider favicons in my bookmark bar.
Was it necessary? No.
Was it something to do while watching a bad UFO documentary on Amazon Prime? Yes.
BONUS USE CASE: narcissistic page of me on my iphone (always thankful my cracked screen doesn't show up in screenshots)
Shared Favbar on @ProductHunt just to feel alive. producthunt.com/posts/favbar
Having @TechCrunch write about a side project I built, pretty cool. Having it also use embedded tweets which I worked on back in the day... /cc for memory lane @benward @indianburger techcrunch.com/2020/07/27/vi…

Update on privacy controls. Two settings have been added:
* prevent others from creating lists based on your follows
* prevent others from adding you to lists created through vicariously
This won't address everyone's concerns, but it does give you control at the very least.
So in order to unsubscribe from @Walgreens emails all I need to do is go to law school, pass the bar, become an expert on the CAN-SPAM Act, and then lead a major lawsuit against them?
Been thinking about ways to overhaul my Twitter experience so I built vicariously.io/ and I have to say, I'm pretty happy with the end results.
It's an easy way to create (and sync) lists based on the follows of another user.
The next step for me is to prune my follows to clean up my home timeline. I used to never miss a tweet, but those days are long gone. I'm going to see if I can get back to that by having a much more curated home timeline that's supplemented by lists. Here's hoping that works 🤞
If you're curious what I built @getvicarious on, here's the stack:
* NextJS deployed on @vercel
* @tailwindcss
* @prisma
Then I have a @digitalocean droplet that runs a worker for processing list syncs.
Not sure there's another stack I'd consider for a new project nowadays.
