Poland has deployed its elite GROM military special forces, along with counterterrorism police units and additional border guards, to its northeastern borders.
Shortly after midnight on November 3, 2026, the Polish Border Guard spotted individuals moving with flashlights on the Russian side near the frontier. Forces were rapidly mobilized to prevent a potential cross-border incursion or provocation.
