Women hate being told that a lot of them are still sharing the same men. They think they’re the ones in control. They believe they’re setting the rules, that they’re not settling, and that he has to meet their standards if he wants to be with them. Here’s the reality: most men will not fully commit or give their all to a woman who insists on setting the terms of the relationship. So she ends up with only a portion of his time, attention, and effort. He’s still keeping his options open. She’s sharing him because she’s never getting his full focus. And that won’t change until women are willing to work within a man’s standards instead of expecting him to reshape himself around hers. Until then, most will keep getting pieces of men instead of all of one.

i stopped trying to “fix” my sleep and started trying to convince my body it was safe. humming. cold water on my face. deep breathing that actually stimulates the vagus nerve. it feels stupid. it feels like it shouldn’t work. but when ur prefrontal cortex comes back online, u realize how loud the static was the whole time. i’m not cured. i’m just not fighting a bear every morning. and that’s the difference between surviving the day and actually living it.. 6//6

My friend Ayako has translated American movies and TV shows into Japanese subtitles for 22 years. Above her desk, taped to the wall, is a handwritten list. "American sentences that do not exist in Japanese." She let me copy it. 1. "I'm good." Means yes. Means no. Means I'm full, I'm fine, I'm leaving, and please stop asking. She has translated it 31 different ways. She thinks she was right about half the time. 2. "Bless your heart." She translated it as a blessing for six years. Then a woman from Alabama explained it to her, very sweetly. She had to go back and fix four movies. 3. "Hold my beer." Japanese has no phrase for the moment right before a man does something stupid for a cheering crowd. She subtitled it "Someone please call an ambulance." Nobody has ever complained. 4. "Love you, bye." American men say this to their fathers. On the phone. Fast. Like "see you later." In Japanese, "I love you" to your father is a deathbed sentence. The first time she subtitled it, the whole Japanese audience thought the father was dying. He was asking about the Cowboys game. 5. "Come here." An American sees someone crying, says two words, and opens his arms. In Japan, we ask "Are you okay?" and look very carefully at the floor. 6. "Proud of you, kid." Japanese has the words. Japanese fathers just don't use them. Ayako has typed this line more than 400 times. She had heard it in her own house zero times. Her father is 78. A retired machinist. The quietest man I know. He speaks maybe ten words of English. Last spring, he went to see a movie she had translated. Alone. He didn't tell anyone. That night, her phone rang. He said it in English. Exactly the way the American dad said it on the screen. "Proud of you, kid." Then he hung up. Immediately. Before she could say a word. Japanese fathers have not changed that much. She sat on her kitchen floor for an hour. He didn't say it in English because he forgot the Japanese. He said it in English because in English, it was allowed. America, you think you're just talking. Love you, bye. Come here. Proud of you. You've been handing the whole world words we didn't know we were allowed to say. Some of us are finally using them.

When researchers analyzed how Pegasus spyware infected iPhones without the user tapping anything, they found something wild. The attackers sent an iMessage with a fake GIF that targeted Apple's image decompression engine. The decompression math was so flexible that the exploit chained arithmetic operations together to construct a literal, functioning software CPU using over 70,000 segment commands that defined logical bit operations (AND, OR, XOR, XNOR, etc.) entirely inside the image parser. This created a small computer architecture with registers, a full 64-bit adder, and a comparator, running raw code before the phone even buzzed with a notification

Just a reminder: There is absolutely no known reason for this layer known to any working scientist outside this group. No one I know knows why "shepherding" is needed here. No one has explained why David Gross (85) and Arthur Jaffe (88) are in almost every scene like this and have been since the 1980s. If asked who the 5 member panel intercepting this result would be, I would have gotten both of those names as my first two guesses. No one has explained why Ghislaine's father Robert Maxwell took control of this intercepting layer with Scientific Publishing and Permagon Press. No one has explained @pmarca and @bhorowitz's meeting at the Biden whitehouse where they were told that entire areas of theoretical physics were shutdown. Or why Francis Collins and Anthony Fauci were involved in "Swift and Devastating takedown(s)" of their colleauges. No one has explained why we couldn't figure out COVID's origins within a day or two. There is simply this layer since the Manhattan Project and its secret "Reference Committee" that makes sure that science doesn't proceed the way we are all taught in school. Simply put, this is as mysterious as it is outrageous. Who ordered this bizarre interception by Gross and Jaffe? Are we all supposed to pretend this isn't happening in science? "Oh yeah. This is all totally normal. Please take custody of this result and shepherd us like sheep with PhDs so we don't have any sudden violent advances. By all means, we need the octogenarians who have generously provided us leadership during this long four decade period of mysterious stagnation. Baaaaa." This does not add up. Unless it does. And it's mind-boggling.

Every GOP strategist, consultant, and candidate should be forced to participate in a role-playing exercise this morning. Your name is Bob. You’re a 49-year-old blue-collar worker in Ohio. You’ve always struggled to make ends meet. The good jobs were all shipped to China and the few remaining pay a pittance wage, undercut by endless illegal labor. You’re a 3x Trump voter because you believed he would finally make America great again. You put your son through Ohio State. He graduated cum laude in computer science. You couldn’t have been prouder. After months searching, he landed an entry-level job at Microsoft. Beneath his qualifications, but a good start for a smart kid. Then he got laid off. That same month, Microsoft applied for 150,000 more H-1B visas because it can’t find qualified Americans. Your son has spent six months back in his childhood bedroom, sending hundreds of applications without landing an interview. On TV, Trump boasts about the greatest economy in history and how many women and minorities are finding jobs. You decide a father-son steak night might cheer him up. Gas is $4.50 a gallon. Filling your truck costs over $100. At Kroger, ribeyes are $30/lb. You settle for hamburger, even though 70/30 ground beef still costs $10+. At checkout, a fat black woman is screaming at the cashier because her EBT will only cover most of the filet mignon and lobster in her cart. You think to yourself how the Iran war has made everything expensive, but at least we’re stopping their nuclear bomb. You weren’t even sure where Iran was before you googled it after we first bombed them in March. After dinner, you take your son to the county fair. Half the people aren’t speaking English. Virtually none of the crowd looks like you. You’re forced to leave early after a “teen takeover” turns violent. A foreign born judge pledges none of them will go to jail. Back home, you turn on the TV. Vivek Ramaswamy is lecturing the crowd about American mediocrity and why Ohio needs more foreign talent. Your son grows upset. You change the channel. Now a Republican surrogate, the daughter of a governor or wife of an elderly billionaire, explains that young White men are the REAL welfare queens. They’d rather play videogames in their parents’ basements than work. Your son says nothing. He just goes back to his childhood bedroom. You turn off the TV. Then your neighbor starts blasting reggaeton and cracking open Modelos. He brought his cousin’s family from Mexico to help with all the minority-business contracts his construction firm keeps winning. Tonight they’re celebrating his nephew’s birth, the family’s first birthright American citizen. You sit alone in your living room. You worked hard, paid taxes, obeyed the law, and raised your son to do everything right. You voted Republican again and again because you believed somebody in Washington would finally fight for you. Instead, your wages are stagnant. Groceries are unaffordable. Your community is unrecognizable. Your country is fighting another foreign war. And upstairs, the son you sacrificed everything for is lying awake in the bedroom he slept in at twelve, wondering what the heck he’s even supposed to do with his life now. Every time you turn on the TV, the Republicans you elected are either congratulating themselves or explaining why you and your son are the problem. For ten years, they told you America’s future depended on your vote. Now you aren’t even sure America has a future worth defending. The Republican Party needs to answer one simple question this morning: You’ve spent a decade demanding Bob’s loyalty. You’ve given him stagnant wages, unaffordable groceries, another foreign war, and a son who did everything right but can’t find work. And when they complain, you call them lazy, entitled, and racist. What possible reason have you given Bob and his son to vote Republican? Do you honestly think you deserve their vote?
