Trees make everything better.
This might sound crazy - it is not crazy. Lee Kuan Yew talks at great length throughout his memoirs on building Singapore about trees specifically, trees *as such*, being harbingers and indicators and inspirers of great things:

people freaking out about photoshop’s new editing features should check out old analog darkroom print notes. Photography has *always* been mediated by heavy editing
Lots of artists freaking out about Photoshop’s new AI features seem to have an ironic sense of history for that applications role in authentic photography and art. Photoshop’s concept has always been that it is an illustration tool with photos as the base layer. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I would have gone with “Leopards are gravity-defying slam dunk monkey death machines”
Leopards are not only opportunistic but versatile hunters.

New Science paper argues horses came to the Americas earlier than previously thought—a conclusion that, if it holds up, rewrites the history of the N. American West. Strikingly, the article is from a team of archaeologists, geneticists, and Lakota researchers and elders. 1/15

Our bookstore at Rockefeller center fully opens today. This store is our effort to resurrect the lost tradition of grand, midtown bookstores. Please come see it, and tell us what you think.

Fact check: missing context. Even though Jerome Powell and the Carlyle Group would like to do that, they can’t because it’s a national park.
Replying to @RudyHavenstein
Jerome Powell explaining to Lael Brainard and John Williams how the Carlyle Group is going to buy up these mountains, load them up with tons of unsustainable cheap debt, pay out massive dividend distributions to the partners, and then file for bankruptcy.
Idly wondering what John Bender and Claire Standish would think of this insect...
Giant Malaysian Katydid. Sound on! Arachnacris corporalis is native to Malaysia, one of the largest insects, 25 cm (10 in) wingspan. Males have the largest testes of any known animal, 14% of overall body weight— like 200lb man having 28 lbs testes imgur.com/gallery/EQyKSjw

Bloody typical, I just found this 250 million year old pink Himalayan sea-salt at the back of the pantry and it expired in 2019!

Cochineal insects feed on pricklypear cactus. When crushed, they produce a dazzling red color. In colonial Mexico, dried cochineal was Spain’s second-most valuable export after silver. Today cochineal is still used as a natural dye under the names “carmine” and “natural red 4”
