🚨🇭🇺 Hungary appears unlikely to enter Eurovision 2027.
According to a document from the country's new public service broadcaster, they don't consider the Contest to be an urgent priority - but they do wish to join Eurovision in the future.
MRT hopes to address this "by 2030".

🚨🇧🇪 VRT says it stands by its decision to compete at Eurovision 2027 but "has taken note" of the NPO's withdrawal.
The Belgian broadcaster maintains its stance "because we wish to continue supporting and influencing the necessary changes within the EBU."

🚨🇳🇱 MAJOR BREAKING:
The NPO, the Dutch broadcasting group which planned to take over the Netherlands's entry at Eurovision next year, has confirmed they will no longer participate in the Contest.

And the response is in from the EBU's Martin Green:
"We’re deeply sorry that NPO will now not take part in the 2027 Eurovision Song Contest. We understand their decision, and we respect the strength of feeling behind it in the Netherlands."

🇳🇱 The NPO say they had support from their broadcasters. But internal pressure, talk of government questions and a closing withdrawal deadline has made them flinch.
Today's news proves that leaving Eurovision is easy - returning is the hard part.
A really embarrassing U-turn.

Junior Eurovision gives young artists a shot at stardom - but the show doesn't seem to be aimed at a young audience.
How can Eurovision make sure that JESC is able to reach the next generation, rather than feeling like just another Contest for existing fans to watch?
