Honored to present the preliminary results from the first patient enrolled in Phase I #HyDEF at @SmilowCancer at #ASTRO26. Huge credit to Dr. @AlisaRybkin for her tireless work on this study and to PI Dr. Tim Robinson for his leadership. Grateful to be part of this team.
.@JamesNinia presents the HyDEF phase I trial #ASTRO26. The protocol treats two halves of the same tumor with radiobiologically equivalent but different fractionated doses, enabling a direct intra-tumoral comparison of fractionation schedules in patients with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma bridging to CAR-T therapy.
In the first patient, tumor volume dropped 98% by day 60, T-cell strength improved post-radiation & treatment was well tolerated. @SmilowCancer @YaleRadOnc @ASTRO_org @OncoAlert

One of my favorite projects from the past year. Grateful for the opportunity to dig into the @YNHH archives and uncover this early chapter of #brachytherapy at Yale. ⏳ ⏰ ☢️ #ASTRO26
.@JamesNinia shares a case series of early radium therapy from the @YNHH archives, the birth of modern #brachytherapy, at #ASTRO26. @ASTRO_org @YaleRadOnc @SmilowCancer @OncoAlert

A little #ASTRO26 time travel. 🕰️ Presented our historic case series on radium therapy’s early implementation at @YNHH in 1922.
As we spend another great @ASTRO_org meeting excited about the future, it’s always worth looking back to see what we can learn from our history.

Research spotlight from #YaleRadOnc:
Two prescriptions, one tumor.
At @RadiumSociety, @JamesNinia presented #HyDEF—a novel within-tumor trial comparing BID vs QD RT in r/r DLBCL prior to T-cell therapy.
Early results show feasible planning & delivery.

Complete consolidative RT in ES-SCLC → ⬆️ OS & PFS
Oligometastatic status alone ≠ prognostic

#RadOnc #SCLC #RMST #ClinicalLungCancer
3/ Key insights:
📌 Oligometastatic status alone was not independently prognostic
📌 Completeness of local therapy may matter more than disease burden
📌Receiving immunotherapy was associated with improved overall survival in this cohort
4/ Main takeaway:
🎯 Treating all residual disease (when feasible) may improve outcomes in ES-SCLC
Future validation is needed — the NRG-LU007/RAPTOR trial will help evaluate these findings prospectively

Excited to share our contribution to a #GyZone case in @IJROBP on oligoprogressive MET NSCLC. In this challenging scenario, we advocate for thoughtful nodal RT while maintaining systemic therapy. Grateful to work with @HenryParkMD! authors.elsevier.com/a/1mxzu…

Honored to host Dr. @BobTimmermanMD for the 2nd annual @RoyHDecker Memorial Lectureship at Yale.
A fitting speaker to honor one of SABR's early trailblazers, and a thought-provoking look at the future of ablative radiotherapy. #YaleRadOnc #RadOnc #PULSAR

Yesterday: in-service exam day for all RadOnc residents. 📚
A chance to learn more, challenge ourselves, and perhaps most importantly, continue our annual tradition of lunch together afterward. Great food with even better company. 🍛
