Awesome. I attended that game and later (much later) wrote about it in A Coach at Heart. Congratulations to Dr. Bunce.
An all-time great on The Farm and in The Granddaddy of Them All 🌹 Don Bunce is being inducted into the Rose Bowl Hall of Fame! 🗞️ stanford.io/4BIKkY1 #GoStanford

This has been a great World Series
Jonny DeLuca and pinch-hitter Ben Williamson singled home runs in a stunning 12th-inning rally, and the Tampa Bay Rays staved off World Series elimination with a 4-3 win over the Milwaukee Brewers. The victory forces a Game 5 on Wednesday night. apnews.com/article/world-ser…

Terrible news for the #Aztecs legend. My family and I have been big fans since his college days.

All is right again in the world of baseball. Lots of tears in the MLB commissioners office, I'm sure. No LA-NY world series, despite their best efforts.

Not any different from Major League Baseball or government.
College Football is led by the least among us

We're good for something I guess 🤷
Who had the biggest blowouts win this week? Oregon State took the top spot in FBS and Hutchinson CC topped the overall #CobraKaiAward for Week 6 -- spotlighting the week's biggest blowouts at all divisions worldwide!

The two college football teams I root for lost, and are losing, by a combined score of 86-7. It will get worse.

Update: 124-21, final. I'm going to go watch the Lifetime channel now. Maybe a Christmas movie on Hallmark.

San Diego State is not serious about football. They can't expect fans to take them seriously. Sean Lewis is on track to become the worst coach in Aztecs history. He makes Chuck Long look like a genius. The AD who hired Lewis needs to go.

2027 core #Padres in the field: France, Machado, Merrill, Tatis, Salas. Campusano/Sheets DH. Can't keep Cronenworth at 2B full-time anymore. Great D off the bench. Need bona-fide replacement at 2B or RF if Tati is moved. Bogearts might want to finish his career with Bosox...

2027 #Padres on the mound: Rotation currently consists of Joe Musgrove. Only. Not a good situation. If the new owners are really "all in" then signing Michael King is key to making another playoff run. Pivetta might go free agent but should stick for one more year. (More)

More #Padres pitching: I've always been agnostic about Buehler. Willing to bring back Casey Mize if he's willing to take 4th starter money. Let Robbie Ray go, please. Re-sign Vasquez. Miller is still under contract. Morejon needs to be re-signed. Team has off season needs.

How many ways can they come up with to screw up this great sport? Screw wasn't the first word I came up with, btw. 🫣
MLB has proposed returning to a 154-game Regular Season, best-of-seven Division Series, and opponent selection in the Wild Card and Division Series Starting in 2029, shortening the season to a 154-game schedule would create a standard weekly off day benefiting player health, and it would allow the addition of up to 8 more Postseason games by moving to a best-of-seven Division Series format Beginning in 2027, higher-seeded clubs in the Wild Card and Division Series would select their opponents

Congrats to the Brewers. Best team won the series. Now go beat LA.
Final.

Weird but ultimately successful season for the ##Padres. Rough first half. Brilliant second half. Did what they had to do in the wildcard series. After that, it's a crap shoot. Four tight, nerve-wracking games.

NFL has a subpar Sunday night match between the Lions and Panthers. Watch it get more TV viewers than Braves-Dodgers. NFL dominates sports TV like the SEC dominates Conference USA in November.

#Padres lost because Mason Miller was wild, sure, but they really lost by leaving several hundred runners on base. A little hyperbole but you get my drift. I guess Padres in four was wrong. 🫣
Final.

Also, questionable bullpen usage. They should have put Randy Vasquez in between Matsui and Rodriguez. That would have given Miller a standard one-inning save.

This is a great baseball game with strong pitching and amazing defense. Meanwhile, the home plate umpire lost eight of nine challenges by batters and catchers. #Padres
