Kenya Marine and Fisheries Research Institute @KmfriResearch says fish from Lake Nakuru has heavy metals and is not suitable for human consumption. On the other hand, @HassanAliJoho CS for Mining, Blue Economy and Maritime Affairs of Kenya says, “Endeni mkavue samaki ni wenu.” In the meantime, a river of sewage is flowing into the lake. This issue shouldn’t be taken lightly. It’s a matter of life and death!
Lake Nakuru continues to expand rapidly, submerging several sewage treatment ponds and contaminating the lake with sewage. There were plans to decommission the Old Town Sewerage Treatment Plant, unfortunately, the swelling lake isn't waiting for a government that keeps dragging its feet.
Spotted this plastic litter at Kanyagia, along the Nyeri–Nyahururu highway. Sadly, many trading centres along our highways look like this. Businesses, residents and government should put extra effort to keep the environment clean. These plastic waste shudn't be in the environment.

The Elephant - Explaining Society to the People
All of a sudden the government has realized there are old trees that need to be neutralized. A government that doesn't respect the natural environment will definitely not give shi* about its people. We are treading on dangerous grounds.
Power saws all over. I tell you it's bad. 1 tree planted 100 felled. This is ecocide!
Lower State House Road has the least traffic. What justification is there in felling 50 years old ornamental trees to dual the road?
Yesterday they deceived us that they are planting 15 billion trees. The day before, Kindiki Kithure was threatening a road contractor with Court action for delayed delivery. The point is this: there is no need for some of these road constructions which require wanton destruction of trees. It is an elaborate scheme to plunder public money at the expense of the environment.

Nakuru County. One month apart.
They wanted more space for pedestrians, so they cut down the beautiful jacaranda trees. Someone once said that corruption alone does not explain why our counties, and the country at large, struggle to develop but also inadequate education, limited exposure, and appointing people who have neither formal training nor practical knowledge of the departments they lead.
I enjoyed walking here. Unfortunately, all the beautiful jacarandas have been sacrificed for road expansion, it will take many years bfo new trees grow. If this section will remain a pedestrian walkway, why cut down the trees? Why not design the project around existing trees?
Happy #MazizngiraDay from Kasongo and his cabal...
RT @KalekyeMoments: Those who don't know the president thought they were witnessing an environmental revolution, when he launched the 15-bi…
By 2032, the target is nolonger to plant 15 billion trees, but to cut down 15 billion trees. Ndio tutajua mvua haitoki mbinguni....by that time, forests across the country will be flattened. We cannot allow that to happen!
The government must not use Ebola as an excuse to violate people’s rights. Fighting Ebola is important, but it must be done humanely and without causing fear. We should not suffer or die in the name of fighting Ebola...like it happened with covid.
#MazingiraDay will be just that, mere speeches and more felling of trees. With the ongoing destruction of our forests, there’s really nothing to celebrate! Let's start by stopping deforestation!
They just discovered a gold mine in cutting down trees, because there’s no way sustainable tree harvesting can be done this way! This government clearly doesn’t care about conservation... absolutely appalling and disgraceful!
Are we really serious about planting 15 billion trees by 2032? Nimeona more than 100 tippers carrying huge logs from deep inside Kireita Forest, and honestly, there are so many questions. Was the logging ban lifted? Who authorized this?Anatajwa sana. And who that senior government official behind it? Naskia mpaka watu wa that area kimende, kinare and magumu ata hawajui.
For every tree planted, ten are cut down. This government is not interested at all in protecting the environment! Kila pahali ni milio ya power saws.
The government is much more focused on deforestation. If mature plantation trees in Kereita have reached harvesting age, let them be harvested under proper management and replanted. We need timber production, but we also need to protect the forest and the water tower.
