Hasan Piker's response: "Do you know how much shit I ate for the last eight months? Shut the fuck up, Haley Stevens. Literally. For the last eight months, I supported 47 candidates across 17 states this past year. I interviewed candidates. We fundraised for candidates. We phone-banked, we canvassed, we rallied for state and federal candidates across the country. And what did I get in return for that? The enmity of every top level Democrat and every Republican in the country. Every single one. All I got was fucking slander. All I got was 'Hasan Piker is a motherfucking terrorist.' That's all I got."

Ta-Nehisi Coates: Haley Stevens, in joining Rogers, has allied herself with this odious culture war, one that is itself tied to a very real war. The campaign of hate, of which El-Sayed is the latest victim, has a simple goal: to render Muslims and Arabs more killable.
Haley Stevens’s defection from the Democratic vote isn’t a story about party intrigue, writes Ta-Nehesi Coates, but one about “violent, chauvinist power.” Read the full essay: vanityfair.visitlink.me/zXJG…

Stevens says her decision to endorse Mike Rogers was “not impulsive,” which means she lied to everyone she spoke to the night before when she told them she was not breaking with El-Sayed. Or she’s lying now.

"Israeli strikes on Gaza killed eight people, including a young boy." This is what Haley Stevens and Mike Rogers defend but also don't want you to know about. Ceasefire, what ceasefire?? apnews.com/article/mideast-n…

Enough. The world should not have to beg us not to be monsters. Vote to rein in this leadership. Vote for checks and balances. Vote for accountability. Vote for the rule of law. Vote for democracy.
You know things are bad when Ukrainian families from Kyiv are begging the citizens of the United States to vote Blue in the Midterms to save their lives because they know that Trump is a Dictator that stands with Russia and cares nothing about them. They say this isn’t who America is and I think most of us agree with them.

‼️ Just did some phone banking for Abdul El-Sayed and many of the conversations were the same as over the weekend. Everyone that answered already voted for Abdul or had plans to go tomorrow. Here are the ones that stuck out. - Arab female voter (20s) Wayne County noted the Islamophobia and praised Hasan Piker: “No one seems to care about us but we’re showing up for Abdul. Pretty much everyone in my community has or will be. Things are so bad. Democrats like to blame us and Republicans are racist against us. Jake Lang came here. It feels like everyone hates us. I watch Hasan and it was nice seeing him come here for Abdul and show how normal it is.” Then she said she and her family are all going tomorrow to vote for Abdul. Herself, her two siblings, her parents and her two grandparents. - Black male voter (50s) in Flint: “She’s been attacking Mike Rogers for months and suddenly she goes to support him? In what world is he better than Abdul El-Sayed?” He said he has already voted for Abdul by mail. - White male Independent (30s) in Calhoun County: “Rogers has literally nothing to offer other than what Trump is doing so I’m voting for El-Sayed tomorrow.” - Black female voter (20s) in Oakland County: “What Haley did on Sunday was gross. I’ve been telling everyone to vote Abdul so Mike Rogers can go away, but now I need her to go away too.”

Hi @JeffreyGoldberg, given you know @WajahatAli personally and have published him (and published me too) in the Atlantic previously, are you okay with Kirchik calling Waj a terrorist (and also saying I'm not really an American)?
The only thing missing from this is an “Allahu Akbar” at the end

Hi Matthew, you really gotta stop lying in this way about stuff that is in print and on tape. You tweeted in July that "my advice would be to vote for Stevens" and shared multiple polls which you claimed showed Stevens would do better against Rogers. In my interview with you, I asked you "if you still think she would have been a better candidate against Rogers" and you said "yeah." I asked you if "you would say she was a safer candidate in the general election" than Abdul El-Sayed" and you said "I think she's a safer candidate." What's wrong with you? Why lie about stuff that's on tape and in print? You thought she was the "safer" and "better" candidate against Rogers - a man she has now *endorsed* following the most deranged public behavior. Full interview: youtube.com/watch?v=av3KOf88…
The option always exists to check what someone has said about an issue, or to not do that and cherry pick remarks to exaggerate differences. Notably, I don’t actually think Hasan and I even disagree very much about Michigan.
