Prime Day is a good day to remember that while Amazon was fined just $7,000 for dangerous conditions that caused an Amazon worker to die in Indiana, Jeff Bezos became $1.6 billion richer YESTERDAY & Amazon made $30 billion in profits last year.
Every Amazon worker needs a union.

BREAKING:
Israel has dropped bombs on Palestinians waiting for water in Zaitoun neighborhood, Gaza.
Over 17 killed, many injured.
The bodies are severely mutilated.
Read that again: Desperate civilians, starving and thirsty, standing in line for water.
This is a massacre.

“why people saying “ALL EYES ON RAFAH”?”
“where is it?”
“what’s happening there?”
🔻 Rafah is located on the border of Egypt & the LAST place for refugees
🔻 everyone in Gaza is displaced in Rafah now (around 1.7 million)
🔻 Israel still attacking Rafah, burnt people alive

Big resignation from the Biden administration - an extremely powerful one at that. This section, in particular, struck hard - read it and read it again.
“Because the hardest part of the past six months was feeling totally alone like I was the only one disturbed by the footage from Gaza. The only one who felt like a participant, not just a passive observer, in the destruction there. For six months, I never heard anyone speak about the war in those terms, ever. I felt like I was living in an alternate universe.”

It is interesting, to put it politely, that Tiananmen remains the American reference point for state violence against political movements instead of, I don't know, Kent State, Wounded Knee, the MOVE bombing, LA '92, Ferguson, Standing Rock, NoDAPL, Stop Cop City, etc etc etc

CNN's @miguelmarquez: "I've covered lots of this sort of stuff around the world, and i've never seen this many police moving into one area."
Read this thread! @BlessAmysHeart speaks clearly and passionately about the need to fund Newport schools. We cannot expect improvement without resources and we cannot allow our elected officials to act surprised when long term lack of investment comes back to bite us.

Five years ago today, roughly 7,100 National Grid customers in Newport and Middletown woke to the news they’d be without gas heat for roughly a week during what was a brutal cold snap.
We are getting closer and closer to a completed new high school!

With my mother. Daddy’s funeral.
He wasn’t assassinated because he wanted his children to be judged “by the content of their character.”
But for dismantling racism, poverty & militarism.
He wanted corrective measures to eradicate racism, not the delusion that it doesn’t exist.
