Did you see our incredible Battle of Cable Street stained glass window at St George in the East Church, designed and developed by Keira McLean and Jamie-Max Cartoons, this weekend?
The church belongs to the radical tradition of Christian socialism and these amazing artists created something really unique to mark 90 years since the Battle of Cable Street, when the working class of East London united and drove back Mosley and his fascist, black-shirt thugs.
What an incredible way to commemorate it.

Who is she?
At the Battle of Cable Street in 1936, several photographs show this woman being arrested. We don't know anything about her, but we think her name was Blanche Edwards
Our illustrator @JamieMaxArt is working on a book which we'll be releasing to commemorate the 90th anniversary of Cable Street. He'd love to find out more about her and trace any living relatives. If you can help, get in touch!
And if you want a free copy of the book with Jamie's finished illustrations, you'll have to get yourself to our Cable Street anniversary gig on Saturday 3 October: eventbrite.co.uk/e/cable-str…

Some good chat tonight about how we can use art to document our struggles and working class histories but also as a tool of political engagement and literacies. Thanks for having me @glasgowtuc and to @sukisangh and @JamieMaxArt
