The Snowman and Father Christmas take place in the same universe. In Father Christmas, Jim and Hilda Bloggs from When the Wind Blows are shown in the pub. This therefore suggests that, canonically speaking, the real ending of The Snowman is a massive nuclear war.

A last thought about Flatline. As a young child Doctor Who terrified me. So I avoided it. Years later, I get a chance to write for it. My first draft is properly horrific. On some level, I think I was writing a script that was as terrifying as I *imagined* it used to be.

I think I prefer the final version, it's got the extra polish and I think Clara's arc really pulls it together. But I sure am sad we lost this ending.
