Where's my f**king prestigious think tank fellowship?
Replying to @Billbrowder
I'm rather hoping Russia launches a full-frontal. Obviously relieving my boredom with this interminable issue is one reason, but also because I have a pet theory Putin's rabble will at best gain a pyrrhic victory or even better, quagmire within a week and get their arses kicked.

One thing I hope we learn soon is how much access Jennica Pounds and other influencers were given to classified documents in the Pentagon, State Department, intelligence agencies, and elsewhere—and what they did with them. Because the answer is not definitely not "zero."

Looking at Right-wing European commentators like Robin Alexander and Justin Webb towards elections in America and Europe you get the sense that they have not grasped that there might be a wider vibe-shift away from specific assumptions they assumed were fixed in place

I will never get over the fact that the world has grown indifferent to the horrific suffering Ukrainians endure and experience in Russia's war and genocide of Ukrainians. People are immune to unimaginable evil rather than outraged that it has been allowed to fester and grow.
She was just 23. russians tore out her fingernails, burned her hands, shot her — and finally executed her with a bullet to the head.
Bucha. March 2022.
Karina Yershova had fled russian-occupied Donetsk with her family in 2014. Eight years later, russia caught up with her again.
She was tortured and murdered. An elderly couple, Viktor and Natalia Mazokha, tried to save her. A russian soldier killed them too.
Karina's body was found in a mass grave. Her mother was left to bury her daughter in a closed coffin, desperately trying to open it for one last look at her child's face.
She was 23.
This is what russian occupation means.
Remember Karina Yershova. Remember Viktor and Natalia Mazokha. Their names must never be forgotten. russia must face justice.

"The bigger boy made us do it"
Just got a call from a Republican source after texting a mildly ironic comment. Was expecting doom and gloom. I heard something slightly different.
“There are many in the GOP who saw this coming and wanted to save the administration from themselves via targeted oversight against the most cancerous and dumb elements within it, but were constrained. Now there could be a real opportunity to address very serious problems that are long overdue, but only if the Dems resist the urge to overreach.”
You are more than welcome to speculate as to who the “cancerous and dumb” elements are.

I do not think a man who went to great lengths to hide the fact that he was born in the Soviet Union (originally posing as a Maltese immigrant) should be the Secretary of State of the United States of America.
NEW: With a Trump admin reshuffle expected, confidante Sergio Gor is expected to rise. 10 sources says he's laid the groundwork for months, with potential posts ranging from White House chief of staff to top roles at State - even Rubio's!

Oi, what a week for traitors. Spartz out of the US congress. Mendel officially suspected of high treason. Moloda, the fake paramedic, in pre-trial suspected of conspiracy. No peace of mind for those who betray Ukraine.

The only Ukrainian member of the US Congress, Victoria Spartz, has lost her seat.
Spartz is a right-winger who voted against $60bn in aid for Ukraine in 2024, three days after a Russian strike on her native Chernihiv killed 18 civilians.

The pipeline is real. From anti Corbyn Labour to centrist to GC to anti woke to hard anti woke to Restore/far-right. Regardless of one’s own sympathies, it’s worth acknowledging the pipeline is real. Usually happens to weak minds and narcissists but it’s real.
