Had to give a shout out to @godisplays ... bad driving conditions and the inevitable resulting motorway collision meant I ended up being late for pick up at the warehouse. Let me have my stuff anyway ready for tomorrow's event. Thanks guys!
Chuffed to have you on board with us @Jcastweet!
So much yet to do, but the wheels are now very much in motion at @RenewaBlox as we build out new systems to deal with some of the UK's biggest energy problems.
Gradually, then suddenly.
This week I invested in the seed round @RenewaBlox
What they have planned is good for Bitcoin and perhaps even more importantly good for the UK.
Whatever your opinions on Bitcoin, everyone can agree we have an energy problem in the UK and energy optimisation can go some way to fixing it via Bitcoin mining.
This solves a problem.
Great to be onboard with @JasonADeane @CL_Wheeler @FrenchyBit
I saw this first thing this morning.
Thought to myself :
'Wow, AI is doing cool stuff but doesn't quite look real yet' and then just carried on with my day without a second thought.
Then, everyone posted it.
Then it turns out it IS real.
Which is weird because it doesn't LOOK real.
Which is maybe the point.
Mind-blowing.
Seems like a long time ago now and we've come a long, long way, but the explanation of what the problem is and what we're up to is still bang on, even though I say so myself!
@BTCPrague is such a cracking event. I so love going there. Look forward to doing it all again next year!
Our Co-CEO @JasonADeane spoke at @BTCPrague earlier this year, explaining why so much power is wasted, where it is, & how @RenewaBlox is on a mission to reduce costs for consumers & increase profits for operators through flexible Bitcoin mining. Enjoy! youtube.com/watch?v=rmtu9rE1…
My 'little' EV6 GT-Line is getting on, now almost at 60,000 miles. Bought it brand new, paid top dollar as these were impossible to get in 2022, but there was also a cracking incentive scheme at the time, which meant I ended up with an amazing deal on net balance.
A couple of little chips on the bodywork, some scratches in the boot, but she runs as tight as she did on day one.
Today I drove from near Wokingham to near Aberfan in Wales for a meeting with 100% charge (which gave 322 'EV' miles) and then back, about 5.5 hours in the car and a total of 258 'real world' miles.
Wondered if I could do it on one charge, as around 70% of this was on a motorway.
Turns out, no problem at all.
Super easy, relaxed, chilled drive. There and back with 14% and 45 miles left in the tank. Total fuel cost: £2.78.
Still amazes me how good this piece of kit really is. @eV_Newt @AntiEVidiots @EVAEOfficial @ukevowners

The world is still reeling from this madness from Trump.
Russia's war is not going well. Despite enormous losses, it has failed to achieve its original objectives, and recent Ukrainian counteroffensives have pushed Russian forces backwards. In September alone, independent analysts estimated that Russia suffered a net loss of territory, with some of the highest troop losses recorded for Russia for the whole conflict in that month.
Meanwhile, Ukraine continues to fight for its very existence with extraordinary bravery and innovation that belies its smaller military resources.
Russia's human losses are staggering. British intelligence estimates around 1.5 million military casualties since the invasion began, approaching the equivalent of 1% of Russia's entire population. And all this for remarkably limited territorial gains (around 2%) in recent years. It would take Russia several populations and hundreds of years to succeed at this rate, but its economy has a fraction of that time.
It is under serious & mounting pressure. Oil refining, gas exports, coal mining, freight transport, aviation and automotive manufacturing have all suffered very serious damage or disruption. Energy revenues are falling, economic growth has slowed dramatically, and the government's projected budget deficit has doubled.
Yet Putin continues to sacrifice Russian lives and long-term economic prosperity in pursuit of a war that has already inflicted enormous damage on his own country.
How much more Russia can endure is uncertain. Economic collapse is not inevitable, nor is a coup. But the longer this continues, the greater the human, industrial and financial cost — and the harder Russia's eventual recovery will become.
It can no longer produce enough fuel for its own people or its army, with serious distribution problems across most regions. Sure, it can still physically (just about) do it, but each day it gets harder. It has had export bans in place for months to try and control the situation as Ukraine takes out more refining power faster than the Russians can fix it.
Russia's oil has been under sanction, put in place by Biden, since March 2022.
Now, as Putin realises he is in serious danger of losing his war, economy and (in true Russian style) his life, he has turned to his mate Trump for help. And he has obliged.
Assuming Putin can even produce enough fuel to export and then figure out some way to get it there, the volume is so small it'll have no impact on pump prices while Trump continues his forever war in Iran.
This merely appears to be a symbolic and public statement that the USA is fully aligned with the aggressor and not its NATO allies.
The fallout from this will be significant. If there was ever any doubt that the US cannot be trusted, this has surely been quashed forever.
I don't know what to make of @elonmusk 's comment here. For someone with such incredible intelligence, this is a highly misinformed statement, and we can only assume he has been briefed by Trump rather than by reality.
As we know, those are two entirely different things.
I actually think this looks pretty cool.
Immense and utterly ridiculous, sure, but cool.
However, three problems:
1) It's a Jaguar. That means it'll probably break down constantly.
2) Jaguar went mental and rolled out the most cringey, embarrassing, woke advert ever devised to man (or woman, non-binary, trans, etc) which directly copied all the other awful woke tosh at the time while, ironically, running under the banner 'copy nothing'. Gonna take years to get past that. And therapy probably.
3) I'll constantly feel like I'm driving home from B&Q with a couple of scaff planks in between the seats. No-one likes that feeling. Usually means you've got some ghastly DIY job lined up.
Still, looks cool though.

I just checked, it's been five months since I recorded this little chat with @InvestorSmarter. We've moved from theoretical to practical since then ... and a whole lot more besides!
I think we should have another chat towards Xmas with a few big updates!

It's a mad, mad fiat world we live in.
(For now)
The $100 trillion Zimbabwe note has appreciated 24x more than the US dollar since 2011.
You would have been better off saving in a defunct, worthless currency than dollars.
Do love this track and its power & passion.
Took me a couple of goes to get the visuals though: in my interpretation, the blue square folder is the old way of thinking dished out by those in authority ... what say you?
(I also gave my PC downtime to SETI back in the day looking for aliens, had over 80 PCs running across 3 internet cafes I owned at the time. Never found any ... but then would I tell you if I did?!)
Manifest Destiny, Man
A tribute to @americanhodl8 (lyrics from my Hermes agent reading transcripts of his interviews & talks.)
Astra + Opus 5.5 + Hermes + Suno + Higgsfield + Tesseract for editing + local model voice stack to make the singer have HODL's vocal characteristics.
No-one could ever have seen this coming.
(Unless you understand basic economics, have a brain or are blessed with common sense, of course)
I've always been a bit of a secret fan boy of @Jacob_Rees_Mogg. I think it's the smooth, elegant delivery of whatever point he is making in debate, backed up by a Stephen Fry/encyclopedic level of knowledge of history and culture than can be commandeered on demand.
Tonight I enjoyed his company at dinner & learned where this vast knowledge comes from ... He listens. He asks questions. He learns. Constantly. Exponentially.
It's frankly terrifying, especially if you're the one he's listening to.
You need to know your 'bag' well.
Don't mind saying, I do.
Looking forward to the next round, Sir.
Couldn't resist.... a wonderfully warm night in london, post event, heading home with @Jcastweet and @JayW132 ... fabulous event. Thank you @xapobankapp !
