This comes as a shocking surprise to me when the standard and standard method of measurement already exists for Ctv. With Open Measurement SDK #omsdk you can measure in a standard and consistent manner while choosing your preferred vendor. It provides all the raw signals for impression counting so you can compare across all provider and channels. If there is one area everyone needs to use a standard it’s counting. Companies should not differentiate their product on counting but in value added capabilities. OMSDK provides the counting for impressions and viewability. Just don’t get why measurement companies try to not adopt a standard.
Same campaign. Same demo. Same quarter. But Comscore counted 43.5 million impressions and iSpot counted 24.6 million. Somewhere, a CMO’s head explodes. That gap is the result of an interesting new piece of research presented in Warner Bros. Discovery's white paper "The Unified Reach Paradox," which put VideoAmp, iSpot, Comscore, Innovid and Samba side by side across 50+ campaigns. WBD's own research chief calls the variance "quite alarming." I'd call it a 77% spread putting measurement in question altogether. The Industry’s Irony It’s an irony that as an industry, we can’t get measurement straight, the thing that just involves counting. The thing we were supposed to nail before getting fancy with identity graphs, co-viewing and personification. WBD's David Porter says it's "kind of crazy" we still debate what a video impression is. One could find stronger language. The buyer survey accompanying the research project backs him up: 73% name unified reach a top missing data point, and 79% don’t fully trust outcomes without it. So the whole outcomes gold rush - CAPIs, attribution, ROAS decks - rests on numbers nobody agrees on. What Should Happen Tomorrow Perhaps we can have an advertising kumbaya. Standardize impression and viewability definitions, industry-wide, YouTube included. Align universe estimates, or disclose the recipe. Slap a nutrition label on every projection model. One more thing: the biggest name in TV measurement skipped the bake-off. Nielsen doesn't do side-by-sides. Make of that what you will. adexchanger.com/tv/new-wbd-r…

Can Jayden Daniels stop LSU from giving No. 5 to another player? Almost certainly not. But he may have considerably more control over how LSU continues to use his name. I spoke with six attorneys and experts to explain this saga. Here are the answers. nytimes.com/athletic/7513423…

The NCAA Tournament - the industry’s crown jewel - faces an uncertain future. With inevitable expansion on the horizon, a difficult conversation lingers: What happens when the event’s contract expires? “There are pressures. P4 have shared that with us.” yhoo.it/3PHHgrL

The mistake in the White House college sports roundtable is thinking the system can somehow return to what it was. But it can’t. College athletics didn’t break because NIL happened. It broke because media money, conference realignment, and the professionalization of football and basketball fundamentally changed the economics of the system. What Charlie Baker said is the most honest line of the day: “The money part has to be part of the conversation and it’s gotta involve the student-athletes.” That’s the reality. The old model worked when college sports were a campus activity. Today it’s a multi-billion dollar entertainment business. You can’t run a modern sports economy with 1980s governance structures. The next phase of college athletics isn’t about “going back.” It’s about building the operating system for a new industry.
Trump asks Charlie Baker if there’s a solution that is “as good as what we had before?” Baker: “the big thing we all have to remember here is that the way it was before…sports and media played a completely different role in our society…and the money part has to be part of the conversation and it’s gotta involve the student athletes.”

I’d estimate at least 50% of players still looking for a spot went into the portal in the first place because an “agent/manager” convinced them they’d make more money elsewhere.
Today is the last day Football players can enter their names into the Transfer Portal. Here are some numbers as of 12pm: 10,853 entered the portal 6,715 are still active 3,229 have signed 576 have withdrawn 333 have matriculated #TransferPortal

College sports programs aren’t just about wins and losses — they’re billion-dollar brands powered by media rights, fan demand, and scale. So how do you measure what they’re really worth? @AD_University and @CNBC present 2025's most valuable college athletic programs:

I have a hot take I don't think you can prevent what we're seeing with Kiffin with better contracts or tweaks to the calendar. I think we need a sense of professional honor, and failing that, *shame*, to actually set standards of acceptable behavior for coaches and admins
