Graduate school is notoriously toxic and students are often retaliated against for speaking out. This has to end. tuftsdaily.com/opinion/2022/…
“I think despair is an endemic part of revolution. No revolution happens within one lifetime so we work to capacity, we believe in what we are doing knowing full well we won’t see the fruits of our labor. It is a hard place to hold.” — Audre Lorde

More white women have spoken out about being traumatized by Will Smith slapping someone than yesterday’s mass murder of innocent Black grocery shoppers.

to those starting grad school in fall: love bombing in academia is a thing, and can quickly turn into exploitation and abuse.

since leaving grad school i have been forced to reckon with the fact that academia's endemic abuse is not unique. the cultural acceptance & non-response to this abuse is also not unique. but the egos.... the desire to reproduce harm... also not unique ok 😂 it all! gotta! go!

Our bodies are not public domain. They are not a line in a joke—especially when the transformation is not of our choosing. I’m a survivor of violence. I'm a proud Alopecian. The psychological toll we carry daily is real. Team Jada always. That’s that on that.

Listening to @spoontheband new single Wild on repeat and decided I needed to simultaneously read as much Spoon journalism as possible . I came across this gem from @kellyconaboy and can’t believe I voted in the primary without the most important data thecut.com/2019/05/does-ever…

Our hearts are broken to learn of the shooting at Oxford High School. Acts of violence create concern across school communities. Please refer to our tips for supporting your schools in response to this event. nasponline.org/resources-and…

There is nothing else to say that has not already been said about the many contributing factors that lead to school shootings. My heart is breaking for the the children, the families, and the educators of Oxford Schools.
If you work in education, but do not work face-to-face with children in a school for your entire day (or most of) you don’t really know how bad it is. It’s really, really bad. I’ve never seen so many exhausted, depleted humans.

Y'all! I need help. Could you please share some "it gets better" articles that are meant specifically for teens? I am trying to find some articles to inspire some hope during, what I think we can all agree, is the weirdest time of anyone's life #education #schoolpsychology #eww

If I had a magic wand or suddenly came into $400 million, I would ensure every school had a fleet of mental health professionals to address the problems students (&adults) are facing in returning to full-time in-person learning after quarantine & still during a pandemic.
