Changes are coming 🚨 (not really)
My primary content will still be Starfield and space RPG stuff. But with my debut science fiction novel, The Callisto Connection, coming later this month, I’m making a little room for the author side of me here too.
I’m bringing back the Captain’s Log series, too!👀
I’m also planning occasional game reviews focused on story, characters, dialogue, and how I feel about the writing.
And YES, there will be occasional shameless self-promotion of the book. I wrote a whole damn novel, and I'm gonna tell folks about it.😂

Mass Effect: Andromeda gave SpaceX a place in its universe.
Now, with BioWare closing and the next Mass Effect canceled, I feel like there’s an opportunity to return the favor.
Just putting that out into the universe, @elonmusk. 👀
ICYMI: In the video game Mass Effect: Andromeda, the studio inserted a small, early easter egg giving props to @SpaceX (way back in 2017). There is a model rocket ship (appears to most resemble the Falcon Heavy) in the captains quarters onboard the Tempest.
When you interact with the ship model you unlock a special codex entry describing humanity's early ventures into space that ultimately led to how humans travel through space in Mass Effect, which is set in the year 2185.
The full codex entry:
The human philosopher Plato once said: "Astronomy compels the soul to look upward, and leads us from this world to another." For much of its recorded history, humanity has indeed looked to the night sky and dreamed of venturing to the stars. However, after the historic NASA Apollo moon landings in 1969, the drive for crewed space exploration slowed as government funding dried up. The move towards cheaper unmanned probes and orbital stations gained traction instead, as one of the central obstacles was the expense of creating first-stage booster rockets that would be lost after each flight.
But the lure of sending people into the cosmos never lost its draw. In the early 21st century, a private company called SpaceX pioneered efforts in sustainable space travel by developing a reusable launch system. It revolutionized the field as the first entity, government or private, to successfully launch and then safely recover an orbital booster rocket intact, allowing it to be reused in future launches. Reusable hardware placed lower-cost, sustainable space travel within reach.
Galvanized by SpaceX’s achievements, a renaissance in space exploration followed. Reusable launch system technology later became pivotal in establishing the European Space Agency’s first permanent settlement on Mars, Lowell City, in 2103.

HEARTBREAKING UPDATE: THE AIRMAN WHO FELL TO HIS DEATH AT THE UTSA FOOTBALL GAME LEAVES BEHIND A WIFE AND TWO YOUNG BOYS.
We now know the identity of the U.S. Air Force member who tragically fell approximately 150 feet during a military rappelling demonstration at the Alamodome in San Antonio on October 17th.
His name was Technical Sergeant Ian Patterson, a decorated Air Force veteran with 15 years of service.
Ian was participating in a pregame demonstration honoring our military before the UTSA - Navy football game when something went terribly wrong. He descended at a dangerously high speed and struck the field in front of thousands of spectators.
He was rushed to the hospital but tragically did not survive.
Ian was a husband to Niki and a father to two young boys.
Niki is a stay-at-home mother who homeschools their children. Ian was their primary financial provider.
Ian spent 15 years serving our country. He served in Korea, Colorado, and Germany, and was recognized as the Air Force Special Warfare Enlisted Instructor of the Year in 2022.
A GoFundMe has been established to help Niki relocate closer to family, provide for her children, and handle potential legal expenses.
Please pray for Niki and these two little boys.
Our military families sacrifice more than most people will ever understand.
🇺🇸 Rest in peace, Technical Sergeant Ian Patterson. Thank you for your service.
For those who haven’t seen it yet, VCO (Vitruvian Character Overhaul) by RebelEmberMods is now available on Starfield Creations!
It’s a pretty substantial overhaul of the game’s characters, featuring improved models, updated face and body textures, and refitted outfits.
Great to see this one make its way to Creations, especially for console players!
Refit patches for Zone and KZ mods are on the way too.
