Day 31/365 misty moist and mystical sunrise over swampy central FL. No matter the location, a sunrise is always a spectacle and some are spectacular. Only six weeks till equinox. One hundred forty days till Solstice. The seasons march on. Away from #LakeMiltona #sunrise2025

Day 30/365 Reflecting this morning on this sunrise habit and the journey ahead. By the end of Feb the sun rises in the middle of our view. I am blessed. I’ve recorded sunrises from more than a dozen different states and countries. The sun always rises #LakeMiltona #sunrise2025

Day 29/365 clouds again deny the early appearance of Helios. The brilliance will likely return as his chariot rises above the overcast horizon. There is power in that brilliance. You can feel it through window panes. You can see it as the snow recedes #LakeMiltona #sunrise2025

Day 28/365 A bank of clouds occluded the appearance of Sol for a moment. The clouds are low on the horizon and easily topped and the radiant brilliance will be washed over the landscape. The breath of Boreas will try to maintain a chill on the warm air #LakeMiltona #sunrise2025

Day 27/365 textured clouds made an interesting start to the day. See how the clouds marched forward. They eventually muted the appearance of the sun. The various colors reflected the radiant pink and gold and red of the dawn. A lot happens in minutes. #LakeMiltona #sunrise2025

Day 26/365 Another colorful progression of dawn. An amazing display of light and color brought to you by Mother Nature. The fourth picture is zoomed in to show the rich warm texture on the distant clouds. Wonderful winter day awaits. Get out and enjoy #LakeMiltona #sunrise2024

Day 25/365 A progression of dawn. Approaching clouds provide a surface to reflect orange and pink. There is enough opening at the horizon for Sol to ignite the clouds in a pillar of light. There was a hint of parhelion (sundog) for a moment. Brilliant day#LakeMiltona #sunrise2025

Day 24/365 Almost an hour before sunrise the clouds serve as canvas to the artful colors of dawn. The pink and purple fade to grey and orange just before the Sun’s appearance. The orange reflects on a clear spot of ice. The look of warmth in midwinter. #LakeMiltona #sunrise2025

Day 23/365 An early orange belt of Venus before bright Helios appears. Mid winter is the season of extremes. A 46 degree temp increase in 24 hours followed by a 33 degree drop in the next 24 hours. The yo-yo temps may bring about a January thaw soon. #LakeMiltona #sunrise2025

Day 22/365 The earlier storytellers could only imagine what was beyond the horizon. They wove tales of gods on chariots bringing the sun into the sky from some distant palace. It can be humbling to think about how ancients viewed what we take for granted #LakeMiltona #sunrise2025

Day 21/365 As Dawn’s first light filters through a forested backyard, I notice some oaks don’t drop their leaves. The lovely reddish cloaks offer color in the grey midwinter. They signal warmth on the coldest morning of the year. Reminds us to Bundle up! #LakeMiltona #sunrise2025

Day 20/365 A reminder of where we are and where we are going. We are sixty days from the Vernal Equinox. The sun now rises over the south point. By the equinox it will rise over the north point. Snow and ice will likely remain. But not forever. Promise! #LakeMiltona #sunrise2025

Day 19/365 Sol has moved noticeably northward since the Solstice. We have gained twenty four minutes of daylight since the first of the year. That means warmer temps. Eventually. Not today or tomorrow though. Bundle up and enjoy the brightness today. #LakeMiltona #sunrise2025

Day 18/365 Sol arrives in brilliant splendor. Bright clear skies and glowing sunshine give an illusion of warmth. Don’t be deceived. The arctic air arrived on the blustery breath of Boreas. Bundle up and breathe it in only if you dare. Small doses only. #LakeMiltona #sunrise2025

Day 17/365 A prolonged and colorful sunrise. The sky colors increased and the clouds were a dazzling pink before Sol finally showed. Last night’s sunset was equally amazing. Take time to take in sky shows. Pause. Let nature’s art and joy fill your soul. #LakeMiltona #sunrise2025

Day 16/365 Sunrise this morning vs sunset last night. I am amazed at how the pastel pink was reflected again. Not so much color this morning. Brightness abounds and the air has warmed. For now. The arctic breath of Boreas returns for the weekend. Enjoy! #LakeMiltona #sunrise2025

Day 15/365 A wonderful progression of artful colors this morning. Clouds provided a canvas for pastel pinks and blues. The orange warmth of the sun pulsed at the horizon. The blue of the sky showed several iterations. Quite the palette. Take it all in. #LakeMiltona #sunrise2025

Day 13/365 The horizon glows like Hephaestus’ forge 20 minutes before sunrise. The sun peeks beneath the clouds showing how far it’s moved since Solstice. Yesterday’s sunset in the frigid cold showed a halo with sundogs. The moon rose with dogs as well. #LakeMiltona #sunrise2025
